I purchased this soundbar to replace a 38" Vizio soundbar that has recently been having weird sound issues from one of the speakers depending on the audio that's playing. I went with this Philips TAB8405 because it had multiple input options and Google Assistant capabilities. Unfortunately, the quality of this soundbar does not match up to my Vizio even with the weird speaker sound. Thankfully, I didn't completely disconnect my current soundbar setup and chose to test this first. Pros: - The bar itself is aesthetically pleasing - EQ options: music, movie, voice, stadium, custom Cons: - It doesn't come with any wires aside from the power cords. You have to use your existing wires or buy new ones if you don't have any. - The actual set up/connection to the subwoofer and Wi-Fi is the most complicated thing I've ever seen. You have to download two separate apps (Wi-Fi Music, then Philips Entertainment), follow the steps, initiate a couple of updates before playing any audio. - The subwoofer has to be placed on the right side of the sound bar / your left when facing it vs next to or behind your couch - The bass and overall surround sound is just not there with this - The volume is super low. I was able to turn it up to the max (30) while listening to music and it wasn't loud at all vs my current soundbar when at mid-level 15 is louder. - The remote is barely functional at times when pressing the buttons as it wouldn't register the command In addition to the above, the box was half ripped off during shipment because of how it's shaped. Overall, I would not recommend this soundbar. Therefore, I will continue searching for something with comparable audio quality to my current Vizio soundbar.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of the box, the soundbar system looked great until we realized that the speakers on the subwoofer are located on the sides. The issue with the speaker being on the side hinders our ability to hear the bass properly. The subwoofer sits beside our television and sounds muffled, so now we have to find a new spot for it. I allowed my husband to set up the sound system because he was excited about it. After about 20 minutes of trying to pair the subwoofer to the soundbar, he had completely given up. I disconnected everything and put it back together. Strangely, that was what fixed the system and allowed the two to pair with each other. We did not use the HDMI/ARC port, but instead opted to use the optical out. The sound was very crisp and clear and the subwoofer gave off the perfect amount of bass. We watched a movie to test the sound and we were amazed. Our living room isn’t very big so the sound was almost like sitting in a small theater to ourselves. We could hear background noises very well which was always an issue my husband struggles with. Also, the dialogue was very clear as well and did not sound muffled. After a week my husband decided to switch our sound system from Optical Out to HDMI/ARC. The sound seemed much better but we noticed that if we pause a show for too long, the speaker system will turn off (after 20 minutes or so). We have a smart TV so maybe that’s the reason. We sometimes have picture but no sound or sometimes no picture at all when the soundbar turns off. It’s really weird. So, we just switched back to Optical Out. Overall, there’s nothing else I can complain about. This soundbar/subwoofer is very nice.
The sound will WOW you!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We hooked the Phillips Dolby Atmos Soundbar up to the television in our bedroom and are so happy that we did! For years we have been using the speakers from the television and thought it sounded ok. Now that we have the Phillips soundbar we realize what we have been missing out on! The sound is fantastic and super clear. We put the wireless subwoofer at the back of the room so we have the thumping part comes from behind making you feel like you are in a movie theater. The soundbar was very easy to install and we have it sitting right below the television. We have always been a fan of the Phillips brand and this product is holding up to their quality reputation. We would recommend the Phillips- Dolby Atmos Soundbar to anyone is the market for a big upgrade to their tv's sound system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This soundbar with subwoofer offers incredible, clear sound that makes watching movies, sports, gaming, and TV more enjoyable. This has so many great features from different sound modes, dual HDMI inputs, bluetooth, the ability to stream (like Spotify) over WiFi, voice assistant and the option to add additional speakers for a surround sound experience. The design of the sound bar is a slanted design and can be hung on the wall by using included wall brackets. The subwoofer is a slim/compact design that does not take up a lot of space. This is very simple to set up and does not take a lot of time. This is really an awesome soundbar/subwoofer set that sounds awesome!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My roommate and I love to watch movies in the den. We've got a good TV, but the space is sort of large and the TV is mounted high, so sound is often a bit of an issue. NOT ANY MORE! This thing bumps. Gotta say, I've never really seen the need for something like this in most living rooms, but boy this made a world of difference. It really feels like a brand new TV and entertainment system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recieved this sound bar for my parents tv. Found it easy to set up and the sound is great. Makes the experience totally more enjoyable . It has proven to be easily operated as my parents are not very tech savvy because they are elderly. They love the sound an are very pleased with the quality and price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the sound on this thing. At first, I had an issue with the sound fading in and out but once I actually took the time to read the directions and go through the settings, everything was fine. I also like how you can go through blue tooth, a plug or through the TV, love the options. I would definitely recommend this sound bar to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A bit of a scare at first thinking I couldn't get it to work with the app. You need to get this part to work to update the internal software. Once I stuck to the instructions to the letter and connected to both the unit, then my wifi, it is Perfect. I have the 7000 series too, and I like the 8000 much more. I got rid of my stereo, speakers, and wires connected to my PC. Tried with Bluetooth and works great. A/V synced fine but you can adjust it if you want. Then hooked up to Aux with an external sound card. This is what I want. It has several other settings, like Dim, Display, and Key Tone, but I have the soundbar EQ set to Movie and surround Off. I can change my soundcard with a press of a button between Off and Movie, so I use that. I hardly need to touch the remote unless a video has bad audio. I couldn't find the remote code with my old universal remote, but I put each button on the remote in learning mode, so I don't even need the remote that comes with it. It's nice to have separate volume -/+ and subwoofer -/+. It goes into standby mode if there is no sound for like 15 minutes to save power. If I got the same brand soundbar as my external sound card, it would cost 10 times more, so yeah, it's So worth the price!
