Description

Improve your gum health up to 100% better than a manual toothbrush with the ProtectiveClean 5100 rechargeable electric toothbrush. It has a pressure sensor that protects teeth and gums from excess brushing pressure. Brush heads wear out over time. Our BrushSync technology tracks how long you have been using your Optimal Gum Care brush head and how hard you have been brushing. Your electric toothbrush will beep to inform you when to replace your brush head. Customize your own brushing experience with your choice of 3 modes: Clean, White and Gum Care. The easy-start feature slowly increases the power of the brush as you get used to the Sonicare experience and the smartimer encourages a full 2 minutes brushing time as recommended by your dental professional. The battery charge indicator light lets you know when it is time recharge; 2 week battery life. The kit includes 1 ProtectiveClean 5100 handle, 1 Optimal Gum Care brush head, 1 charger, 1 travel case.

This toothbrush literally saved my teeth. I never had good dental practices while I was younger and have bad enamel. Because of this I had cavities every year. As many as 5 at times. I switched to sonicare 5 years ago and have not had a cavity since. If you need a good brush this is a life saver. I have moved several times the last 2 years and wasn't able to get my cleanings done. Went in last weekend, guess what? Still no cavities and my dentist said all looked well. Get this brush for sure.

Got the pretty blue target exclusive one. 2 weeks in the rubber connector between the handle and brush head came loose so the brush makes a loud rattling noise and has no vibration power to clean teeth properly. Phillips sent a replacement and within 6 months this one is rattling too + there's mold embedded in the rubber connector despite taking the brush head off to dry between use. I'm pretty careful with taking the head on and off + don't brush hard (the sensor that tells you when you're brushing too hard is maybe one of the only good things about this brush). Switching to oral-b because this is terrible quality for an $80 toothbrush. Also, will not be buying from target as they carry poor quality products and do not support DEI initiatives. Mediocre products for mediocre people!

I had an older version of this toothbrush for about 10 years and thought it was time to upgrade but I wish I hadn’t. The motor in this toothbrush is so loud no matter what the setting. The brush heads don’t sit well on it, they move around almost as if they’re slightly loose. Even the original head the toothbrush comes with has this problem. The battery life is also so much shorter than the older version. I only had to charge my old tooth brush maybe once a month but this one I have to charge more often. Not a huge deal but sharing for those it might matter to. Considering I don’t think there is any difference in performance or results, not sure why the battery is so different. I can’t say this leaves a cleaner feeling. If you have not experienced a different toothbrush, I don’t think these factors should make much difference. I like having a travel case for it, and if you catch it on sale it might be more worth it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been skeptical about these electric toothbrushes. My dentist has been recommending them for years and I just didn't believe they were worth it. I was wrong. Within the first few days, my teeth felt cleaner. I don't know anything about how gums get healthier so I can't speak to that. I can say, I'm impressed with the product and recommend it to anyone. I should have listened to my dentist a long time ago, she's a rockstar.

    Great brush terrible durability

For brushing performance I would give this 4 stars. My first one lasted 2 years before it broke down. The culprit as poor quality seals leading to the mechanism rusting inside. I thought this must have been just bad luck but then after replacing it out of my own pocket the brush broke down after 5 months. It’s very frustrating to see the decline in product quality assurance and others seem to also have issues with declining quality in the Phillips range. It’s extra frustrating after purchasing a 6 pack of replacement heads and now having to decide whether I spend more money on a product that might only last a few months especially given the premium price of the product. It’s a shame because as I said I loved the brushing performance.
