These 20-30 gallon compostable bags meet ASTM #D6400 Standard Specification for Compostable Plastic Bags. They are designed to be composted in a commercial or industrial facility, so they are not suitable for backyard composting. The star seal makes them extra leak-proof, and at .85 Mil thick they can handle your standard household compostable waste with no problem. not sure what these could be used for if not the lightest trash in the house.. theyre so large that to fill them with anything could cause them to tear. that being said- the customer service was great and super helpful pointing me towards recycled plastic trash bags instead! Im mailing them back for a refund. I wanted compostable but theyd have to be twice as thick..
