Absolute garbage (no pun intended). These bags are so thin they can't take the weight if my tiny bin is full. I've had a couple rip at the bottom as I'm taking the trash out and made a huge mess. They also rip easily when you are separating them from the roll; I've waisted so many that way. Try any other brand instead, so many good ones out there.

The bags rip when I put items in. Bags are very thin so food falls straight through or when I pick it up. The bags seem to start composting before I use them. Definitely will not buy again!

They are good quality. They don’t rip or tear so your compost stays in the bag if you know what I mean…and the size is perfect. They also absorb the smell so it doesn’t really smell composty. I am very happy with these bags.

Perfect for food scraps now that the local shrubbery bin can take food waste. I might have collective food waste like banana peals or trimmings in a Tupperware to put in the freezer so it doesn’t smell and then dump the frozen stuff into the green bag the morning of or the night before garbage day to put into the curb bin for collection. Or if I don’t have much waste that week I just put stuff in the bag, tie a light single knot above it and leave it in the freezer. They’re bpi certified/rated, as required by the local waste collection company. Had a couple of them shipped to me with other target stuff. Pretty sturdy. I just put a couple of knots in it before throwing it out to the bin and it hasn’t made the bin stink yet.

The bag is sealed at both ends, requiring scissors to cut it in the middle to make it usable. We’ll go back to my other compost bag brand after this package is used up.

These bags have no visible perforations after I tore off the first bag. After the first bag its just one endless roll of bags. I suppose I could just cut off the appropriate length bag and tie a knot in the bottom to kinda seal it. But for $549 for a box 20 bags this is unacceptable. I won’t be buying them again.

Where did the perforations go??

In the past I would have given this product 5 stars. I have used these for at least 3 years and love them for ease of use, sturdiness, and composting. However, the last box I purchased appears to be a never-ending roll with no visible perforations to separate the bags at all. I kept rolling and rolling and finally found two faint lines running across and discovered that it was perforated between those two lines.... only because I pulled on it. These lines appear every 35 inches or so. In order to have a scrap sized bag, I have to cut them with scissors between the perforations. This is an unreasonable amount of work for a compost bag. Please go back to the standard (and visible) perforations every 16/17 inches! I can't really recommend this "updated" product.
You'll likely need scissors to open these bags because they are sewn shut

Let me start off by saying that I never leave reviews (really). It’s just not my jam. But the frustration these bags have caused me have left me no choice. These bags are horrible. They are sealed so tightly & so hard to open, because there is no rhyme or reason to the side that it opens. You think it would align with the direction of the text on the bags- nope! You think it would align with the seams of the bags- nope! There is no reason that it should take me even more than 2 seconds to open one of the bags up. Instead, it takes 2 minutes. Yes, you read that correctly. MINUTES. Who has time to spend on such insignificant tasks? No one. These suck. Point blank. Spend your money on another product, because this is not it.

This is my favorite brand of compostable bags. Other ones start leaking after 1 day of use, but this doesn’t after 3 days. You usually need to replace the bags after 2-3 days and this holds up to that.

I did not like these bags. First, they are extremely hard to open. I shouldn’t have to spend 5-10 minutes opening a bag. Second, they are only compostable in an industrial facility, which I didn’t know before purchasing. I wasn’t sure if they were acceptable for my local county compost program given this. I purchased two boxes and returned one. I got these based on good reviews, which I now question after using them.

These compost bags hold up well! In my experience they’ve not had leaks even after nearly a week of use. These are compost bags and they will start to decompose after awhile especially with liquid, so in general you need to take them out often. Overall, I prefer these over others!
