The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the fact that this is MUCH bigger than a serving bowl, IMO. I was looking for something I could serve my mashed potatoes in. This is way too big for that, unless you are serving 50 people. Great piece though... Just not what I anticipated.

Gorgeous, substantial bowl. Very versatile, farmstyle vibe. That said, it is very fragile (mine cracked just from other bowls clinking in it on the way home from the store), so realize you have to baby it.

I did put them both in the microwave but they say "microwave safe" on the bottom. I had two and they BOTH cracked while in the microwave within days of each other. Waste of money.

These are a great bowl for serving a salad. They are not as large as I thought they would be. If you want larger, go with the square bowls. They are great for a party or family dinner. I got 2 of these.
