Proactiv Solution Renewing Cleanser is an acne-fighting face wash that’s formulated with 2.5% prescription-grade benzoyl peroxide. It's an everyday facial cleanser that treats and prevents breakouts by diving deeply into pores and killing acne-causing bacteria.
Use this face cleanser morning and night to wash away oil, dirt, and other impurities. It’s also formulated with smooth exfoliating beads to gently slough away dead skin cells and remove impurities, helping to prevent clogged pores.

How to Use:
Cleanse skin with this face wash twice a day, morning and night. Dampen skin, then massage a dime-sized amount gently onto your skin for 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day. If going outside, use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water, pat dry. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application. If going outside, apply sunscreen after using this product. If irritation or sensitivity develops, stop use of both products and ask a doctor. Directions: Apply twice daily, morning and night. Treat your whole face. Apply a small (dime-sized) amount to dampened skin and gently massage with fingertips for 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Pat dry and follow with Step 2 (Revitalizing toner). Q: Why is this labeled unscented when fragrance is listed as an ingredient? Also, what is parrafin doing in an acne product?

A: We apologize for the incorrect information listed on the page. It’s being corrected and these products do have fragrance in them. The formula contains a gentle, non-irritating physical exfoliant made of synthetic wax (paraffin) that is designed to be biodegradable – environmentally friendly.

I had HORRIBLE acne as a teen and proactive helped then. I get the occasional breakouts and it was bad around my chin and nose having to wear mask while working in the hospital. This is the only face wash that works, and I’ve tried many! I highly recommend!

I've used this cleanser for many years, and I love that the formula has never changed. For me, it definitely prevents acne, brightens sun spots, and keeps redness away from my cheeks and forehead. If I break away and use another cleanser, the redness comes right back and sun spots are much more visible.

I've been using for years, but got tired of Proactive's auto delivery contract. I was very happy Target carried the ORIGINAL Proactive wash. Don't bother with their other products, especially the X one that has menthol in it. Only thing menthol does is bother your eyes and makes your skin feel weird. This stuff works! It also is the best spot treatment too. Only negative is that the price is way out of line.

I had awful acne and red marks so bad that I would use makeup to cover it all up and would never leave the house until all bumps and marks were covered up. I found Proactiv and began using it as directed, massaging it in for the recommended amount of time. When I do that, my face clears up. I still get occasional acne but nowhere near the face full of acne I used to get. My skin even has a glow and people are surprised to hear I used to have an issue with my skin. I'm very happy to find Proactiv at Target now. The skin on my face is sensitive so I'm unable to use the toner that is part of the three recommended Proactiv products, so I use the cleanser and the repairing lotion.
