Zero stars. Do NOT buy. It clumps and stays in the lashes for days in end, clumping more with each passing day. It is impossible to remove even with Vaseline and hot water. It breaks the lashes and pulls them out. As a professional makeup artist, I used the Original Volumous 5x for decades on myself and on models in photoshoots for professional cosmetology trade magazines. The original 5x was the best mascara. I am so disappointed that L'Oreal changed the formula and made it beyond junk. I'm in search of a new comparable mascara. Zero stars. Do NOT buy.

Can't stand the new formula! Bring back the origional 5X mascara. This clumps and isn't anywhere near as good as the original. My lashes are still longer but not as full. It's harder to remove form my lashes as well. I'm on the hunt for a new mascara and not L'oreal voluminous 15X. I've used 5X mascara for years and always received compliments on my lashes. So sad you changed it.

New formula is terrible -- leaves lashes hard, brittle. Am now using Bare Minerals Lashtopia. Just like (maybe even better) than Original LOreal Voluminous. It's a shame L'Oreal messed with their Original winning formula. If it "ain't broke, don't fix it." Try Bare Minerals Lashtopia for replacement of our former favorite mascara.

NEW FORMULA IS AWFUL. This used to be my favorite mascara but ever since the reformulation I can no even use it, it’s like Vaseline in a tube with black dye. Doesn’t stay on your eyelashes and wears terrible upon application. Please bring back the original formula

Cannot tell even in the sunlight that there is color to this mascara. It was at least a nice application & consistency though, but I wanted this for COLOR!

I have been using this product for 15+ years and started to think I was going crazy the past few weeks. Then I finally thought maybe I bought the waterproof by accident and started reading the reviews. Whomever decided to change the formula made a terrible decision as at least I won’t be purchasing any products moving forward.

I cannot believe that L'Oreal changed this formula without changing the packaging or the name...seems disingenuous at best. The new formula is a tubing mascara (read: tears out your lashes, flakes, cannot build on itself...not anything long-time fans of this mascara want). The questions are (1) will they bring back the true ORIGINAL Voluminous (or continue to waste people's time, money, lashes) and (2) if not, why would you do this to a loyal client base?

I've been using this product for years and have loved it. It has recently changed and I am no longer a fan. It seems like there is less in the tube, it doesn't go on smooth, and seems old from the start. I'm disappointed in the change and will have to find another favorite.

I’ve used L’Oréal Voluminous Mascara for over 25 years. I’ve never used higher-end mascaras because as a contact wearer and allergy sufferer, once I find something that doesn’t irritate my eyes and that I can remove with soap and water or coconut oil, I’m gonna stick with it forever. Well, I should correct that to I used to use it. Because whatever genius at L’Oréal decided to change it only ruined it. I’m so sick of cosmetic companies doing this. Have they never heard what most people know as just plain old common sense: If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it…Please!!! If they’d change it back, they won’t lose all of us!!!

I have been using this mascara for over 10 years and it has definitely changed. I honestly thought i accidentally bought water proof mascara because of how hard it was to come off but when I read the label it was regular mascara. I hope the company realizes how many people are complaining and go back to how they use to make it.

This has been my go to mascara for years! They have recently changed something. Its now clumpy and doesnt dry. Before i was able to curl my lashes hours later and had no issues, i tey now and the curler gets stuck to my lashes it even pulledsome out becausei had to pull gaed in order to take it apart. Will no longer be purchasing this mascara and Im sad because I would get so many compliments about my eyelashes.

Formula has changed. I used this product for years and loved how silky it was yet it washed off easily. Now it is more clumpy and it does not wash off easily. It used to dissolve completely with just water but now it takes effort with scrubbing and cleansers to get it to come off and it comes off in waxy/plastic like clumps. This was my holy grail mascara and now it’s ruined by the new formula.
