Not like the original sand that's in the small treasure boxes. This sand smells like it's sand and glue. My 2 yr old hates the smell and doesn't care to play with it. My 5 yr old still likes playing with it even though it had a strong odor. I'm glad I bought it on sale to try instead of at original pricing. The original felt soft and magnetic feel, while this one felt a little sticky, smelly, course, and stays in its shape longer. Still messy if not kept in a container or pan to play with.

This feels just like the beach! It’s crazy how it feels like that. We have pull out bin shelves we put sand in. No mess! This is my favorite thing to do after school. I can sit and play with this forever. If you have a lot of stress, this is for you. Recommend! 5/5

If you’re like me and were trying to figure out what “beach sand” is versus all the different color sands - this is more moldable and holds shape better. I personally prefer this over the pretty color sands. It’s probably less “sensory” and smells a little more like glue, but the structures we build actually stay together

I bought it without thinking because it’s name brand. But it’s basically ordinary beach sand made terribly hard to play with for the coarseness and heavy weight. My 4 year old just ignores it while he could play with his other much fine kinetic sand for hours. You don’t use coarse beach sand to make kinetic sand it doesn’t make sense! I wish to return it otherwise 100% money down the drain.

When I first purchased this sand, I didn’t have anything to compare it to, so I found it gritty but acceptable. However, after trying Kinetic Sand from Lakeshore Learning, I’ve realized the difference in quality. The Lakeshore sand is much smoother and matches what I originally expected from this product.
