Q: I just got my hair done and I decided to bleach my hair baby blonde, and it looks really orange at the top, would this product help tone the orange out and make it look a lot like I wanted? And how often do you suggest to use this product on your hair?

We recommend using it once to twice a week along with the Professional Shimmer Lights Conditioner for maximum benefits. Another tip is to leave the shampoo sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing. I love the fact that the Shimmer Lights Toning Shampoo gets rid of all the brassiness in my hair. Sadly, it also destroys my already bleach damaged hair. After using the Shimmer Lights Shampoo a few times I noticed that my hair felt like straw, it was incredibly drier than usual, and it started breaking off. What a dissapointmen

The best for gray/silver/salt and pepper hair. Tried many purple toning shampoos and products, this is the only one that does what it says. So I always come back to it. I use it once a week or less and just one use makes a huge difference in brightness and neutralizing warmth in gray hair.

I went to a hair salon, paid $200 + tip for platinum blonde hair. Obviously she didn't care because she only brought my hair to brass yellow from my roots to mid lengths. All this shampoo did was make the brass more prominant and the rest of my hair grey/purple. It does nothing to get rid of brass. Also makes hair dry and frizzy all over. I now have to pay another salon over $200 to get it to what I want it to be.

Frankincense and Myrrh are not listed in the ingredients list. But it certainly smells like it. Very smoky and earthy smell. Not my ideal scent for shampoo or conditioner. Plus leaves the hair very dry. No thanks.

I’ve used this shampoo religiously for the last 5 years and have loved it. I saw the new packaging and was concerned but it said it’s the same formula… I don’t believe it is. Now it’s leaving my hair SO greasy after using it! Super bummed and now I have to find a new shampoo

Warning the new update with whatever they did to this does not “feel” like any conditioner and it stained the cracks of my hands and chest purple. I tried scrubbing for awhile with different stuff trying to get the purple out of the cracks of my skin and it didn’t do anything. I loved the old version- this version if you have this bottle could do the same to you

Was able to get it to work as well as the more expensive salon brands. I had to use way more of the product each wash, but the bottle lasted me a year! Every purple shampoo will be drying, so be sure to condition. The smell is not the best, but it washes out. I am going to buy my second bottle.

My, daughter, who is an expert home colorist, helped color my grey, mousy hair back to a beautiful dark blonde. One problem: brassiness. I used this shampoo twice and it’s gone! Very happy with this product and will continue to use as necessary. Scent is okay; it actually smells like Pureology’s purple shampoo but just a lot stronger.

I have gray/white hair and I purchased this to keep it looking clean and shiny. Instead my hair was left with a very noticeable purple shade. Also has a strong smell that I did not care for. I previously was using Rusk Deepshine Platinum Shampoo and it made my hair a very pretty white, I received many compliments. I will be going back to that brand. I will not purchase this again. If you want gray hair with hints of purple this is for you.
