You do have to take the case off first if you do not have a MagSafe case, but it is definitely still worth it because this product is so well made.

I usually just sit my phone on the other seat but it slides off if I make a big turn. If I put it in the middle I would have to fumble with it to get it. This way I can just press to answer and be hands free. And it’s exactly where it should be when I need it.

Most fall off the vent or the suction cup does not stick on the window sometimes falling off while driving - how dangerous! IOttie Velox MagSafe Compatible Air Vent stayed securely onto my air vent and the magnetic feature kept it snug and has not ever fallen off. Very easy to move if you choose and easy to see when I use my GPS while driving. Sticks to the back of any Brand phone via magnet! The materials are of high quality and I’ve already recommend this product to family and friends!

The instructions are clear, with a link to scan for further directions if needed (they weren’t but I checked anyway). Installation was exceedingly easy, I just pushed it onto the vent wing of my BMW and it stayed put. It does not appear to be causing any damage. My iPhone 12 stuck easily to the magnet. If you have one of those phone cases that are difficult to remove, it might be a hassle to take it off regularly. I tried using it with the case on, and obviously it didn't stick. Fortunately my case is easy to remove. The magnetic attachment has so far held onto my iPhone through daily driving, even on bumpy roads, which my teenage son said it never would. I’m super glad I chose this unit over any others.
