The Only Watch That Could Literally Save Your life

I’ve used the Garmin Epyx 2nd Gen for two years, and when mine had an issue, Garmin replaced it — no questions asked. But more importantly, this watch isn’t just smart — it’s built for real-life survival. Unlike the Apple Watch, which dies after a day or so, the Epyx 2 Gen lasts 16 days — with GPS on. That alone puts it in a class of its own. If you ever get lost, your phone and tablet will die fast — but this watch keeps going. That’s more than convenience — that’s a lifeline. It’s got everything you'd expect from a high-end smartwatch — heart rate, altimeter, compass, sunrise/sunset times, text and call notifications (answerable via earbuds), and yes, music control. But these features aren’t what makes it special. What makes it special is that it’s reliable. It doesn’t quit when you need it the most. This isn’t a toy or a fashion piece. It’s a serious tool for people who live active, unpredictable lives. The Epyx 2 isn’t just another watch. It’s peace of mind — on your wrist.
Does a lot

I've only had this watch for a few weeks, so I haven't had a chance to really test it, but so far, I am very pleased with it. I plan to use this watch to record bicycle trips instead of my older Edge 820. The Epix has profiles for a number of different activities. My main interests are walking/hiking, kayaking, and cycling. My older Garmin Vivoactive 4 did not have a specific kayaking activity; I found this mildly annoying. Now I don't have this problem since the Epix has a specific kayaking activity.

I had looked at this watch multiple times but never noticed the white plastic all the way around the watch. I did not like it because it makes an expensive watch look cheap. I have returned it.
Rocks!

Fits my lifestyle and everything I do. I use it every day. Super light weight. Very comfortable. Love the sleep feature. A little big but I adjusted to the size.

It’s a great watch, looks slick, lots of sports and fitness features, great battery life. It takes some getting used to initially particularly switching from an apple watch, but after that initial phase, now I love it.
GREAT WATCH - NOT EASY TO SET UP

This was a generous birthday present from my nephew. I am a senior and not technically savvy and am having a terrible time navigating it. The book/manual is not easy if user isn’t tech savvy. The engraving on the instruction buttons is not easy to read. It’s a great watch but probably too fancy for someone like me. I haven’t given up on trying to learn how to use it to my advantage but it’s not easy from my experience

Got the white Epix Gen 2 a few weeks ago and been enjoying it A LOT - lots of activity capabilities - been using it for running and west coast ski trip where the ski resort map function was super useful to plans runs, and the long battery life made it easy for a few days at a time… still learning the intricacies and all functionality… the best part is the price point now compared to Fenix 8 made it it an easy buy.

I really enjoy the Garmin overall. Coming from an apple watch, it has INSANE battery life plus better metrics, more accurate tracking, built-in workouts, etc. Configuring the watch is more painful than an apple watch because it does not as easily integrate with the iPhone notification system and the faces are less customizable. I also think the heart monitor is worse. Relative to other garmins, the touch screen that epix has over the fenix is not worth the loss of battery life, especially considering the touch screen is locked during most workouts. I still think this is a great product and would recommend to a friend.

I still have not learned how to use all the features. I am technically challenged but I’m trying to get better. I’ve learned I don’t get a good night’s sleep very often. Looking forward to learning to use it to my benefit

Coming from an Apple Watch Ultra, I had high expectations. The Epix delivers. My VO2 max, swimming metrics, and running stats are collected and accessed in a more intuitive and accessible manner then the Apple Health. I espcially like being able to access my info on the web and make comparisons and see my gains. My apple watch eventually failed due to water damage from pool swimming! Garmin durability and the way they stand behind their products gives me confidence with their devices and equipment. I have even purchased accessories to enhance my watch: Garmin Tempe temperature sensor, Garmin Running Dynamics Pod, and Garmin HRM swim heart rate monitor. Love this watch. Love its flexibility and web based data collection. I am with Garmin for good now.

I have a Fitbit Charge 5 and compare them all the time. They are close to each other in steps, O2sat , and steps. A little complicated to get around the menus. Overall a pretty good activity watch.

The watch is beautiful to look at and easy to use. The AMOLED screen is great, I have a Fenix with MIP screen so this one is different. I use the watch to record kayak trips and post GPS links for the rivers. It's my favorite of my watches now.

Watch says I'm old fat and lazy. I bought it so I can work on that. Lots of features I am still learning some functions. I am using the Garmin coaching to get a routine started. My only regret is not knowing that the epix 2 is being discontinued. Hopefully it will be supported for several more years.
