Q: will this mat stain or grow mold? I have seen different reviews and also concerns about asbestos.

A: With any product that takes on moisture, mold could grow on it eventually. To clean start with a damp sponge and then if there are any additional stains, you could use a scrubbing brush. This product is free of asbestos!

Make sure you really check the measurements. It was smaller than I thought, I guess it means it can fit when stepping out of almost any shower, no matter how tight. The product is pretty much what I expected, dries/absorbs really quickly. Just be careful, it is pretty thin and could break pretty easy if you aren't handling it or the packaging well.

worked perfectly for my small bathroom. no place to hang a drying cloth mat during the day but this one dries straight away. also, the first arrived broken from shipping but they sent another immediately. has lasted a year but will buy another just for new color.

I use this as a dish mat in my kitchen. it works great for that purpose. I can't imagine it would work long as a shower mat. It seems to britle to step on. it did warp over time, but nearly a year of use as a dish mat and it's still going!

As a guest of an airbnb superhost, I used this superb bath mat. The floor around the bath mat stays bone dry, and my sopping wet footprints were absorbed into the mat immediately. The mat is made of diatomaceous earth, so it's really more like a bath/shower stone. It is especially for ANY bathroom in a humid environment, or with hardwood floors.

Initially, this seemed great. But within a couple weeks, it was badly stained and dingy (from clean, fresh from the shower feet?). I’ve tried washing it in various ways, but nothing seems to do anything.

I didn’t see any good results with this product after using it for a few months. It doesn’t absorb water like it is suppose to and the size! The size is so much smaller than shown, when it arrived it was about the size of a cutting board. I wasn’t very impressed.

This was not stone material st all and was more like a hard plastic material that reminded me of a cutting board. It was non absorbs to and not at all as marketed. Extremely disappointed with this purchase.

Honestly this was a waste of money. I read the reviews prior to purchase and I had high hopes that this would work out. After only a week of use it stopped absorbing water fast. Now it just feels perpetually wet. It also developed an odd sickeningly sweet odor. Mind you, this is after only a week of use. We are using the mat under it and allowing it time to dry. I’m actually going to research if I can return this because it was a complete waste of money. I also agree with others that it is way too small to be bathmat.  I will say that appearance wise it’s very nice. So they got that part right.

Not very good. It warped after a little bit, but maybe because we have radiant floors (?) it is fairly absorbent but meh. The non slip thing it comes with isn’t that good either

I really like this mat - it does dry quickly & seems much cleaner than the old fashioned fabric rugs. What I don’t like is the size. They really skimped & it makes a good quality item seem cheap. The product does work but it is too small. It needs at least another 3-4 inches added to both the width and the length to make it seem “right”.

I've only had this for a week -- have really enjoyed the diatomaceous bath mat, except that its already deformed. The mat itself is bent so its no longer flat on the floor, which is very annoying.
