Q: is it a three way lamp or just a one way

A: Hi - this lamp has a on-off socket switch, it does not have a 3-way socket that can use 3-way bulbs. You could always add a cord dimmer to the lamp to give you more lighting control. Thanks for the question.

Lamp came exactly as it was described. Very sturdy & attractive. I am using it next to my bed to read at night. The swing arm is working just as I was hoping it would.
