RTIC Outdoors 20 Cans Soft Sided Cooler

I have worn out 2 of the 30 can coolers. I use the cooler 3 or 4 days per week and open the zipper on the average 4 or 5 times per day. I religiously lubricate the zipper before each trip with silicone type lubricant like I would for a wet suit zipper. The weak point of the cooler is the zipper. It is robust but after 780 actuations per year even though lubricated, the zipper will eventually fail. Since I use the cooler many times more than the average outdoorsman you should feel confident in the craftsmanship. The seams retain their waterproof seal and will not fail before the zipper. The foam insulation is superior to most coolers. If you place the cooler on a towel or carpet versus a tile, wood floorer other hard surface, heat transfer is reduced and your ice will likely last a day and a half. Of course that depends upon volume of ice and temperature of items. placed in the cooler. Bottom Line: I have used/tested the unit to failure twice. Lubricate the zipper and you will double the life of it. Only one other cooler comes close to the RTIC quality and it is twice the price.

It’s great! Perfect size for a long car trip. This is my second one.

Had the cooler for about 3 years. Started having zipper issues after a year. I’d say I used the cooler about once a month. Now it won't even zip shut. Made sure to lubricate often and still had issues. Cooler is useless. This is my first and last RITC purchase. Disappointed.

Good cooler does what exactly descriptions say. Last ok in the Las Vegas Heat at 90*F weather so far. Can’t complain.

Rtic has awesome products. I have a 40 can cooler, a 20 can, and a lunchbox with a gel pack built in. They’re all amazing, but I just can’t get past the broken zipper. If there was a way to replace the zipper…. I would definitely keep buying.

Nice light cooler that packs a punch. The zipper was tough to open but after I applied the lube included, it eased considerably. I froze water bottles and placed them in the cooler. They kept solid in an air conditioned indoor environment for 24 hours and after 48 hours, still had plenty of ice in the bottles. Took it camping in 80 degree weather using frozen water bottles and it kept butter solid for 24 hours, had plenty of ice left in the bottles. Impressive soft cooler for overnight outdoor settings.

I've been soo happy with this cooler. It's tough, light weight, and when I get it filled up; it will fit on my walker seat until I get it out to my Subaru Crosstrek. My niece and her new husband got one as a wedding gift. So of course I had to get the wagon also. A really nice set. The wagon was used the night before the Big Day as we decorated the reception hall.

Keeps drinks and food very cold. While the zipper is a bit of a struggle at times, I appreciate the fact that the case is definitely sealed and doesn't allow for spills or heat inside!

Really like the cooler but the zipper to close the cooler is almost impossible to operate. Tried applying silicone that came with it but hasn’t helped.

Decent for the price, and keeps items cold as it should. Way bigger than i thought it would be.

I love the new lid, where you have easy access without having to mess with the zipper every time. I replaced my older 40 can with this one.

Another fine product from RTIC!!! Best deal around for coolers and accessories, to keep your stuff chilled and cold!!! Absolutely love their products! Out does all the others and they're cheaper!!! The one exclusion I've found, where cheaper is better!!!

Keeps items cool really well. Wish there was a “dry” zip in area at the top for things we don’t want cooled or just for storage. Maybe some side zip pockets too for keys, phone, etc. Pretty expensive for what it is.

We have had this cooler for 4 years and the zipper has come apart many times until it has finally broken. It is difficult to zip and unzip. Is well insulted but wouldn't buy again. After spending that much money I would expect it to last longer than 4 years.

Works great. Very pleased and a lot cheaper than the competition.

This was a birthday gift for my son and he loved it!

The design of the lid ensures that your items will melt, quickly. The insulation on the lid is short so that when you use the zipper and close the lid the lid insulation does not make contact with the wall insulation, thereby leaving a gap around the entire lid under the zipper.

It was great the 5 times I used in the past 18m but now the zipper has broken. The back area split and the zipper came off. For only using it less then 6 times this is a fail for quality.
