I lost the original adapter that came with my rack. I ordered this one and I am really pleased with it. It attaches to the rack connector to the car hitch and stays secure with a screw. No more loosing the adapter.

Upon installation of this adapter it was loose in the hitch allowing it to wobble to and fro. Not better than the old one I was replacing. I had to get it modified which I’m still waiting to get it back to try it.

We have had our Saris bicycle rack for 9 years and love it. We purchased the adapter as we visit our daughter and sometimes use their Saris rack (they have a 1 1/4" receiver hitch) We attached the adapter and drew it up tight for our hitch. The adapter bolts up solid in the 2" receiver hitch and keeps the rack and bikes from any movement. These are well made racks and components made in USA.

I called Saris customer service and they told me I need to replace the plastic hitch Adapter on my service freedom 2 bike rack With an aluminum one! Now my bike rack is rated for 60 pounds for each bike or before it only rated for 30 pounds.

I purchased a new vehicle and the manufacturer installed a 2" hitch. The adapter is what I needed and it was easy to figure out. It seems to be a very loose fit. I have not used the bike rack yet, but assume Saris engineers know what they are doing and it will be fine.

Originally,I ordered the wrong adapter. I called and while on the phone, I sent pictures of my bike rack. The person was able to set me up with the correct one. They sent it no cost and I received it the following day.
Adapter will not attach itself to the receiver.

I wish I could use this adapter. The large hole does not accommodate the size of the hitch J bar to attach it to the 2 inch receiver hitch. The bolt that came with the adapter is too small.
