Schwinn Adult Coston DX 27.5" Step Through Hybrid Electric Bike

I received Schwinn Marshall Adult Electric Hybrid Bike, and am absolutely in love with it! It comes unassembled, with very easy to read and follow instructions. It took around an hour or so for assembly. The color is absolutely gorgeous, the features and the bike in general is just beautiful! It is a beefier bike than a regular pedal bike. It is not overly heavy of a bike, still decent to be able to lift up if needing to haul it to your destination. The odometer is a nice feature, it tells speed, distance, time, and more. The light on the front is very bright and lights the way at night nicely and effectively. The bike works whether peddling or not, as there is a thumb handle to hold down for the bike to go, in order to start going all that is needed is to start peddling and the bike will take off. The seat is comfortable, and nice to sit back and enjoy the comfortable ride. The charger plugs in, and there is an indicator on the bottom of the middle bar, where the power button is located. The bike can go around 35 miles on a single charge, and charging only takes a couple hours before it's ready for it's next big adventure. Top speed is 20mph, which is very acceptable for a bike. Shifting between 7 settings helps for any type of bike riding whether it is flat ground, hills, etc, and is simple with the push of a button on the odometer. This bike is made for pavement or light trail riding, no off roading. Overall I am pleased with this bike and cannot wait to go on many more adventures!

Really nice bike to ride but the seating is too high. I am 5’7” and got the small/medium bike and it’s a little difficult when stopped as my feet can’t reach the ground so I have to lean to one side on my tip toes. I ended up getting a shorter seat pole.

it is to expensive for electric drop down the price tannks

I purchased for my wife who is 5'6". The bike is actually a little tall for her even with the seat as low as it can go. I purchased a shorter seat and that seems to address the height issue. This may sound silly, but I didn't know that the battery had an on/off switch and after the first day of use where I initially charged the bike, was confused because the on/off switch on the handle bar did not turn the bike on. So I plugged in the charger thinking maybe the battery was not properly charged. All the battery lights lit up indicating it was charged so I tried the on/off button on the handle bars again which worked. Next day some thing so I called for Product support and they told me about the on/off button on the battery. I don't recall seeing that in the owner's manual . . . so could just be user error but perhaps it could be made a little clearer in the instructions. Finally, not about the bike but the price . . . I purchased on about July 17, 2022. The bike arrived around July 25th and when researching the above on/off issue, i noticed that the price had been reduced by $200. I contacted support to request the reduced price and was told NO. That is not the way most retailers handle situations like this. So that left a little bit of a negative taste for us. But the bike itself seems very good and we purchased because of our long history with the Schwinn brand.

I need to return. Bike seems huge and I'm 5'4". straddling it the seat is poking the middle of my back. the bike is tall. it's a bummer.

This bike was returned. The seat was not adjustable enough to meet my needs.

I love it I have not been riding I’m having trouble getting my feet to touch the ground. I have tried a shorter seat stem but still to tall. I hope my local bike shop has some ideas I really want to ride.

Description states for riders 5'4" - 5'7" but actually fits riders much taller than this. I had to sell it because too tall for me and I am 5'4". Customer service rep said "we have several 5'4" people in the office that is able to ride this bike". Really doesn't matter if 1000 people 5'4" tall can ride this bike it's too tall for me! Bike shop unable to cut down seat post. And due to special circumference of seat post unable to use universal post. Guy that bought it was 5'9" tall and had seat post as low as it would go. I love the appearance/color of this bike and he said it felt good to ride. Anyway, I gave it a 3 star review due to the incorrect size description.

The bike has many helpful features for commuting, such as integral lights, rack, kickstand. and battery lock. The bike is a little heavy and is not as useful for travel/vacation.

It’s a beautiful bicycle but it was way too tall for me to safely ride. I’m 5’3” and purchased the smallest bike. Customer service has been “excellent” in helping to resolve my issues.

Another great product from a reliable company! This electric bicycle is everything I expected and more. The set up process was easy and even allowed you to use the box it came with to hold the bicycle while you assemble it together. Once assembled, this Hybrid bike really looks impressive! It is built of quality materials and built to last. Schwinn paid attention to the little things: from the storage in the seat, to the different light up options (I love the battery light up under the bike). This device ran very smooth and the controller was easy to operate when in use. If you’re looking for a reliable and beautiful hybrid bike, I highly recommend the Coston DX!

This bike is super fun and cool! Wasn't the best to put together. But I finally got it right. The instructions weren't bad, just something I didn't want to do. Riding it is sooo fun. You can go from regular peddling to throttle with the click of a button. You can increase speed or just cruise. It doesn't go as fast as I thought but it gets up there lol It rides so smooth. And the shocks on it and the seat makes going over bumps or gravel pretty easy. The seat could've been a little wider and better for comfort. However, I love that it opens like a little compartment for storage. For my phone or keys. I wish the charger port would've been in a different place. I just see that being a issue so close to the kickstand. The kick over scares me a little because I'm short but once my leg is over it wasn't bad to hop on and take off lol. Schwinn has been known for making amazing bikes for decades and this one just shows how much their continuing to progress as a brand!!! My favorite bike thus far....

The Coston DX bike is amazing for me. It has been a life saver in biking with my child's bike seat on the rear rack. I love to bike but once I had a kid I needed some help in hauling him along in our hilly town. The pedal assist feature of the Coston has been perfect to help me out pedaling when needed, so I can keep up to my husband (who hauls the other kiddo). I use the bike primarily for recreation and the many different gears help me out. The ride is very smooth and the brakes are great. I normally do not use the throttle only, but it was key to have when our car was at the mechanic and I had to get to the store! I am just below the height recommendation, but have long legs for my height and it works well for me. I am surprised by how lightweight it is. I keep it charged and have not even come close to using a full battery up when I take my kids on rides of about two hours. All the little details have been thought of on this bike. For example, feature that I love is the seat storage for my phone and keys. My husband did most of the work assembling and I helped hold some pieces in place. He said basic tools were needed and that it was not that different than assembling any other bike. I would recommend.

I work near my house and with the rising coat of gas, I've been looking for a eco-friendly option, and this electric bike has been the answer. It was easy to put together, the size was perfect for my height, so far no issues and I only have great things to say. I am able to enjoy nature on the way to and from work. It's been great for my wallet, earth and my health! The storege under the seat it's great. Reccomend it 100%!

Where do I even begin with this amazing bike?! I want to first talk about the bikes height 'requirements'. The Marshall 27.5" in small is aimed for 5'1 to 5'7 (if I'm not mistaken). My significant other is a little under 6' and he is able to ride my 'Small' without any issues! So, if you are only looking to get one for the time being, yall can share, if need be, haha! Now for the good stuff! Saying this bike is a blast is such an understatement! It really makes your ride a breeze! You can go up to 20mph on the throttle, but, speed will obviously vary depending on several factors! You are able to travel up to 35 miles on the battery, but this is also going to vary on the throttle/pedal assist, etc. The brakes are great though we did have to adjust the back break a bit when we put the bike together, due to it rubbing a bit. You have two lights that are provided, one on the front and one on the back. Your back light is a red light, the front is a bright white light. You also have lighting on the under frame of the bike as well, that I am obsessed with honestly! Light settings are controlled with the odometer piece on the handlebar, providing you with 3 or 4 different settings (cant remember at the top of my head). A full charge takes roughly 4 hours, we typically bring the battery inside to charge it, as the box on the charging cord gets rather hot. You do want to make sure that the light on the charging box is green before removing it off charge, the battery itself might appear charged but you want to wait until the other light is green. One thing I do wish was different, I wish the power butt was in a different location, half the time I have to get insanely low to the ground so I can see if the battery is on/off. It also makes me nervous when riding through puddles because of the location. The seat is amazing quality, it doesnt feel like half of the cheap ones that are thrown on bikes. The assembly was rather simple. It came with everything you needed, but you could obviously use your own tools if you have them. My significant other put mine together and it took him well under an hour.

The bike arrived approx. 2 weeks ago. It was well packaged and easy to assemble. The front tire has the quick release configuration so it is easy to remove. The seat top flips up and there is a place to put small objects. Bike appears to be well built and has a smooth ride on the roads and bike paths. I am still getting use to the shifting of gears as it is different from previous bikes. The motor is a nice feature and it also has a smooth ride. Still not sure how far I can travel per charge. To charge the battery you can either leave it in the bike or remove battery and charge in the house. There is a key to remove the battery so it is secured. The bike has front and rear lights and the headlight is very bright. There is also a light that lights up the pedal area. The lights are controlled from controller for the electric motor. I have only gone up a slight incline and the electric motor had no problems carrying my 230lb body up the hill. Very happy with the ride of the bike and look forward to more bike rides.

I found my Schwinn Coston DX electric bike while shopping I was excited to find a bike my size a 27.5 being a tall person . I ha e yet to ride it after assembly because my shifter mechanism is not working. That has been the downfall I am going to have to take to a bike shop due to the failure of this process . I do have to say besides this glitch it is a awesome bike altogether.

Wow! A terrific purchase! I hesitated based on the price but decided to finally buy something for ME instead of everyone else. My husband is pretty handy and it took him about 30 minutes to set it up. I got on the thing and it absolutely FLEW!!!! I was shocked and giddy at the same time. It’s very solid yet fast. It’s stunning and turns heads. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. It’s great as a normal bicycle, too! I put a dog basket on the front and Sam the Yorkie is harnessed in and we just GO! It’s a great feeling and I’m so so so happy that it’s mine.

WOW WOW WOW - I have always dreamed of owning an electric bike. This Schwinn bike does everything. You can peddle or not peddle. It has a smooth ride even when on bumpy roads. I am so impressed with this machine. It charges up quickly and stays charged for long periods. The size of it is good for me being 5ft 6inches and for my husband that is 6ft 1inches. We can both ride it. My husband weighs 215lbs and it rides just as smoothly as it does with me on it weighing 170lbs. It took about an hour to put together by the both of us. Totally worth every tightening of screw. It had some charge to it ready when we assembled but we put on charger for about an hour and it was roaring to go. I am just in love with this bike. It is everything. The white is so sleek too. You can NOT go wrong with getting this well oiled machine for your home.
