Schylling Lava Labs MYO Lava Lamp

This was pretty dumb. Wastes a ton of vegetable oil. It's not easy to put together in the first place and it bubbles for maybe 5 minutes. Then it's over and you have to completely redo it again if you want to. My daughter just told me to throw it out. She doesn't even want to do it another time. Waste of money.

It's the not good thing ever

The stickers are impossible to put on. The LED isn't bright. The "lava" works for a couple minutes and then you have a bottle of oil. Just buy a real lava lamp.

Terrible waste of money and I agree with another review, just buy a real one. Got this for my daughter’s 9th birthday and quit working within minutes! Ugh I should have just gotten a real one instead of wasting $20.

Save your money - daughter saved her allowance for weeks for this and was super disappointed. After the initial 5 minutes of bubbles we now have a jar of oil and water with some glitter in it. Light isn’t bright enough to illuminate the whole thing unless all other lights in the room are off. Buy a lava lamp for the same price.

The kids went wild when my daugther opened this make a lava lamp toy on her birthday. I was hoping to do the actitiy with my daughter but her firends wanted to see it in action. I was surprised how much fun they had decorating and mixing up the lava. It's actually a pretty cool toy and light up too.

Measurements are off, lamp base is challenging to screw in, and final product is lackluster. Save your money.

Shouldn't call itself a lava lamp. It's a glorified lamp with a one time chemical reaction. Once the chemical reaction ends, you have to add more product to generate another short term lava lamp like experience

We followed directions exactly. We weren’t thrilled with the outcome. Buy a premade lava lamp. Don’t say I didn’t warn you..

I think this activity is very clear on what is promises to provide and is a great value for the price! There is the great Lava shape, lights that can serve as a nightlight even after the fun action. And the action- lots of ingredient to recreate this multiple times and while it doesn't last forever, that is why you get the fun of doing it over again. We did have a bit of trouble with the stickers, but we just got creative and did our own decor.

Loved picking out my own dye/glitter/sticker combos and the video instructions were super easy to follow. Came with so many extra bits that now I can let my nephew redo and design his own!! Works great as a bathroom night light too.

When we read the reviews we were skeptical, but if you understand this is more like a science experiment and not a lava lamp that runs on electricity, you’ll love it!

My 8 and 10 year olds were very frustrated by how hard it is to get the stickers on. Be warned- this isn’t a real lava lamp. You mix oil, color and glitter. Then you add something like alkaline seltzer with dye to make colored bubbles. The bubble reaction only worked once for about five minutes. When we mixed more of the powder and added, it didn’t work again.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Incredible waste of money. My daughter bought this with a birthday gift card. We followed all of the instructions. Nothing happens except the light changes colors. It is just an oily mess that sits on top with some glitter stuck to the sides. No movement. No bubbles. We will definitely be returning this!

Doesn’t work. Struggled to get it to turn on…had to fight the button. Ran for 3 hours, nothing ever happened. No bubbles/movement. Waste of money.
