Sharper Image Rise 40 Oscillating Tower Fan Black: Remote Control, 4 Speeds, Indoor Use, ETL Listed, 100-300 sq. ft.

Right out of the box it would not oscillate. Took it apart and reassembled and still nothing. Fine, I’ll use it as a stationary fan. Not even three months of use and it has started to squeak while blowing. Super unhappy, given the price point and the brand!

Unit emits rattling and squeaking sounds when the swivel function is activated. Seems to be associated with the swivel mechanism.

Excellent. I got this for my wife’s classroom and she loves the cool wind this provides for the room and room is fairly large. Gets the job done. Reasonably quiet. Has multiple speed settings, oscillation, and timer. Magnetic remote slot is a nice feature so it doesn’t get lost. It looks elegant in the room. Quick and easy to assemble, but a tip: line up the holes of the base and put all of the screws part of the way in before tightening completely.

I just wished the fan was a bit taller. The quality is good. Not too strong and not too slow. The price is pretty high but I have a feeling it will last a long time.

The fan itself seems to work fine. It's not the strongest fan but it works nicely. The remote on the other hand is the cheapest thing I've ever seen. It didn't work so I opened it to see if it even had a battery. It did, but it wasn't sitting in its compartment correctly and the wires holding it "in place" were actually pushing it out of the compartment and not even connecting correctly to allow the remote to work. I had to use my own pliers to bend them into shape. I was able to get it to work but it's really making me question the quality of the rest of it. I'm not sure I'm going to keep it.

He wants to save electricity but I can't sleep if I am warm at all. We have a ceiling fan but it just wasn't keeping up. We then used a Vornado fan which was great but really only for the person it was pointed at. This fan is fantastic! The oscillation is perfect and I swear the air coming through it is cooler than the Vornado. I also love the remote so that when I forget to turn it on before bed, I can do it without leaving my bed :)

The remote makes it even just that more convenient. It's also easy to blend with the rest of the decor in my room which matters alot to me. I love being cold at night and with this I was easily able to achieve that at a push of a button. The rotation on it is so quiet yet very efficient. Very happy with this tower.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pretty disappointed by the amount of power this fan has. I was hoping for a strong fan that was somewhat equivalent to your average box fan. Unfortunately this just isn't very strong. Even on the highest setting I don't think it really compares to setting 1 on a box fan, and it's hard to feel it even on the highest setting if you're more than 3 or 4 feet away from it. However, it is a very nicely designed fan, and I like the magnetized remote holder. It's also a very quiet fan, and oscillates very smoothly. Just doesn't have the power I was hoping for.

The fan is stable eventhough it looks slim and tall. It has a bright orange remote control that is just impossible to lose that is equipped with a timer that you can set for it to turn on/off at certain time. It has the options to oscillate or stay in one place by using the remote control or the control panel on top of the fan. Assembling the RISE 40 was also a breeze. Simply snap the base together, put four screws into the base and tower, and the fan was ready to use.

It has four speeds and it's quiet enough that it doesn't interrupt a conversation while keeping the whole room cool because of the great oscillating feature. It has a remote control and a timer that you can set which is awesome too. We love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really only like to have fans that rotate as I feel it keeps the air moving more efficiently. This one has a good turn radius and good air flow. Set up was fairly easy (can be done with 1 person but we managed easier with 2) and only took us a few minutes (do need a screw driver). It is fairly quiet which was also a nice feature. The only thing that I don't love about it is the orange remote that you put in the top slot. I like the easy access and storage area for the remote but the color is unsightly against the black. Just a small issue though for an overall really great product.

Compared to the standard bulky oscillating fans, its sleek and elegant design is perfect for any style of home. Not only does it save space, but also provide a better flow of air. It comes equipped with four speed setting, as well as a timer for 3-12 hours. These settings can either be controlled with the remote control, or from the control panel on top of fan, which I found to be very convenient. Assembling the RISE 40 was also a breeze. Simply snap the base together, put four screws into the base and tower, and the fan was ready to use. Overall, RISE 40 by sharper image is by far one of the best fans, and I’m truly pleased with the quality. I would highly recommend it.

It’s a wonderful unit that delivers a great and consistent cool breeze from the floor to the top. The fans controls are very easy to use, with large buttons to control the power, oscillation, wind power and a timer. Set up was a snap - only taking me a few minutes after unpacking the box. I also love the remote control for using the fan controls from across the room. This fan delivers great value and quality from sharper image!

Has a couple different settings with one of my favorites being a timer (so it will go off in a certain amount of time without you making it go off). The remote is bright orange, which I don’t love, but it makes it hard to lose - which I guess is nice. The remote did not come with a battery.
