Seems like such good quality. A huge upgrade from our old simplehuman step can. The slim shape means it fits our ktichen really well. The can opens and closes smoothly and quietly. great purchase!

I am now on my third garbage can thanks to the warranty. I am grateful for the warranty but this product is not well made. The plastic hinge has broken twice now just from simply lifting up the lid to change the bag out. It should be able to withstand being open and closed on a regular basis. There is clearly a design flaw. I would recommend getting a different model because having it break every few months is frustrating for the price.

Finally a trash receptacle that accommodates large wide pieces of trash.

This trash can operates verrrry smoothly and silently, both at open and close. It is solid and the foot pedal is large enough that you don’t have to work to get to it, yet doesn’t obviously stick out. Could not be happier with this purchase!

This simple human slim step can is perfect for my kitchen. I don’t have a lot of space and it fits so nicely at the end of the cabinet. Easy to operate, easy to change the bag.

It’s fine. I like that fingerprints don’t really show up- I’d give it another star for that but it’s kind of annoying that there’s no where to store the extra bags like other simple human trash cans… they have the ability to “grab-and-go” when exchanging out the trash bag but this one does not. I consciously made the choice to buy a step can instead of sensor can to save money- BUT if this can came as a sensor- with the top opening up from the middle (splitting in two) like the baby diaper can… this would be the PERFECT trashcan, even as a step…. Consider it SH

Love the ‘simple’ classic lines, the sturdiness,, and it fits perfectly in the space I needed it to fit. Also large enough to actually hold trash! We ordered the slim oval shaped can, nothing battery operated, just a foot pedal that is smooth and quiet for lifting and closing. Very pleased!

i wish the lid were easier to keep open while I am doing food prep. You have to lift both parts like you would to change the liner

This is a perfect fit for my home. The narrowness and front lift is just what I needed. It’s sturdy and looks great, but super easy to use.

We love the clean, simple design of this slim trashcan. We need it to fit into a small space and it was perfect. Before purchasing this one we tried another brand and the step broke. This one has a much sturdier construction. And we like that when you put the trashcan in it hides the top of it so it is unseen. The company also stood behind their 10 year warranty. One part of the hinge broke. They replaced our trashcan for free. You don’t get that much nowadays!

With our new kitchen I needed a better looking trash can and I came to Simple Human, of course. This one is perfect for my new location. My only complaint it how the bags fit, or don’t fit. I have so many bags already and the old can had a full liner with a hole where I could tighten the drawstring. This can doesn’t have that but I figured out how to get enough tension to hold it up. I also liked that the liner would contain any leaks but it was wasn’t often. I hope it is easy to clean any leaks that may occur. But it definitely looks better than my stainless steel one with the new kitchen. The stainless is now in the garage.

I had high hopes for this trash can as I have previously purchased a rectangular step can at Simplehuman. Unfortunately, despite its slim construction, the lid never closes fully and requires you to manually press the lid down to close. I’ve had it for less than a week and it is a bit disappointing.

This step can has a sleek look, minimizes the space it consumes and maximizes the trash bag content. I really like the step design to open the lid while still having the option for keeping the lid open for longer tasks such as peeling potatoes. Quality product as usual from a name I trust
