Best saw I've ever had, bought this saw 30 +/- years ago and it is a beast . I was doing a lot of timber building, barns ,log cabins etc. From Virginia to Florida and it is original and in the hard case (came with one back then) enough room for the saw , blades , square, tape and chalk line . When it absolutely has to be cut this is my go to saw . It's heavy and has a lot of torque but I've never regretted the purchase. Today in my wood shop it has a place along with my Skil table saws and my Skil routers . Thank you Skil for the great products .
Like a hot knife through butter!

I’ve use worm drives many times over the years. Just waiting for my older circular saws to die before I made the purchase. A few of my older models finally died (not worth fixing). So I upgraded. Worth every penny! Especially if you’re making cuts all day long. She ease you get from the worm drive reduces fatigue. Big fan of worm drive.
Best saw I've ever owned.

I have this saw and it is a graceful beast! Glides across wood and cuts beautifully. I will never go back a non-worm drive saw.

My 30+ year old electric saw finally burned out! Thought I'd replace it with a worm drive and get one that is worth passing on to my son, or son-in law. After some research I bought this Skilsaw. Sure it is a little heavy, but that weight absorbs the torque when it starts and provides extra momentum when you guide the saw through those 8 foot rip cuts! Looks to be built like a beast. I won't use this saw more than once weekly so weight was not a factor and it will definitely outlast me. Peace/Out.
Gets the job done right out of the box.

Over all a good dependable machine. Although, the water hose needed a better clamp to hold it in place and I would prefer a trigger lock so as to relieve my finger from having to hold the power on.
Does this saw REALLY need a review?

Undisputed Champion. For Corded wormdrive, it has always been the benchmark. Would be nice if it had an electric brake and I really wish it was still made here in the U.S.

This is a great saw! Lots of power. A little heavy but I like the weight. My only complaint is that it didn't come with a case. I built one for it. Buy this saw. You won't regret it. Promise.

My fault but my 40 year old Skil sidewinder finally burned up and died. Always wanted a worm drive so I got the 7 1/4" Skil. It's heavier than I thought it would be but dang is it smooth and the weight seems to be a plus.

There is absolutely no other saw on the market that could compete with a worm drive Skilsaw. The power is outstanding, it is quite light, it cuts very straight and it is very easy to use. Definitely the number one saw for any tradesman.

Grew up as a cut man on a framing crew wielding these machines. Built tough, does the job day in, day out and is heavy enough so you can skip arm day at the gym and not feel bad about it. New saw, same quality. Accept no substitutes.

A worm drive saw is the only true power handsaw. The power and torque the so called sidewinder can't deliver. Go Skil.
So good.

Excellent saw , the worm drive gives it enough power to ever cut through treated 4x4s like butter. I recommend the folding stand it is very stable and collapses very small.
