Q: The top drawer has become very difficult to slide open even empty. How do I release the drawer to pull out completely and inspect?

A: 1. Open one drawer at a time and empty the drawer of its contents. Close the drawer after it is empty. Empty the cabinet of all of its contents. IMPORTANT! All the contents must be removed from the cabinet 2. Open the drawer and locate the two tabs on the left and right drawer sides. Use a flathead screwdriver to bend both tabs back toward the inside of the cabinet. (Fig. A) 3. Remove the drawer from the Cabinet. Q: where are the keys for the lock?

A: Please first try looking behind the lock inside the drawer and tip the cabinet to one side to see if you can hear movement in the cabinet. If you still are unable to locate your keys please contact our Customer Service team at csteam@hirshindustries.com.

Simple lightweight two drawer black metal file cabinet with chrome metal handles. Easy to put on handles and casters. Good for light use in small space. If you need something heavy duty, this probably isn't it.

Cheaply made. Handles are plastic with no grooves in handle for screw. Tried to tighten up the screws while putting handles on. Could not get the screws to tighten o to cheap plastic handles. No divider in either drawers to hold up files without hanging folders. Luckily I have it in my office closet so no one can see it. I would definitely suggest spending more money on a file cabinet.
