Q: The specs say that the top two drawers can be locked, implying the pencil drawer and the top file drawer. is that correct? What about the bottom file drawer?

A: That is correct - both the pencil drawer and the top file drawer lock. The bottom file cabinet (third drawer) does not lock.

Q: Is there a special way to remove file draweers from Hirsh 3-drawer files? I ak unable tp do so. There are no leftside or right side mechanisms.

Q: Is it possible to add casters to this product? I see a smaller version with only two draws that has casters and was hoping I can purchase caster separate and put them on this product.

Purchased two navy cabinets for my home office and am happy with the purchase. The only assembly involved was screwing on the handles. As others have said, the metal is very thin and it appears that it may scratch easily (I scratched it around one of the handles)....but, it does serve the purpose, looks great, and it holds alot of hanging files.

It’s basically a piece of crap. VERY thin metal; everything flexes easily. There is nothing in the drawers to prevent file folders from falling over and/or sliding around. I created some stops that sit on the top rails of the drawers, but the cabinet really should come with something specifically designed for it. Any weight at all in the drawers will cause it to tip forward. If I could do it again, I would spend another $40 and go up a level&? I do not recommend this filing cab.

I would not spend this much money on this file cabinet. It’s not black. Looks more charcoal grey. It’s very lightweight and doesn’t feel that sturdy. Small dents around the back were it meets the drawer. Also scratch on the front top drawer as well. All 3 drawers don’t slide very well. They work but maybe they’ll slide better the more they get used.

Gorgeous color and really nice for the amount spent. It's light, so it only requires one person to set up and move. There were ZERO dents upon arrival (which is amazing for an item this size). The only drawback is the top drawer is a bit hard to pull out. The other drawers work great. I'm really happy with this purchase.

Looks cute—but drawers aren’t very deep and the space is minimized even more because they don’t pull out far enough to be able to reach the back 3-4 inches of files. Also, the framing on the inside doesn’t allow for any papers to be hanging out of the folder at all or it doesn’t fit. Very impractical functionally. I will be returning them unfortunately.
