A: Hello Nana, the Sterilite 60 Qt HingeLid Storage Box was designed for general household use, it is not waterproof and does not contain UV protection. Rain, snow, and other weather can get into the storage box.

A: Hi Melinda! The 60 Qt. Hinged Lid Latch Box is not waterproof, air tight, or bug proof, but the latches will keep the cover securely fastened to the base to keep contents protected.

A: Hi LBrownAce! The 60 Qt. Hinged Lid Latch Box is made of Polypropylene plastic and was designed for general household use. Most storage purposes do not require suggested wight limitations. Our products have not been specifically tested for various weight potential, and we suggest consumers not overload them or stack them more than three high. This could cause distortion or eventual damage. When storing items away, use good judgment and be mindful of the weight in each tote and place the heaviest tote on the bottom.

A: Hi BrittP! The 60 Qt. Hinged Lid Latch Box is made of Polypropylene plastic and was designed for general household use. We only use high quality FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. These plastics do not contain PVC's, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bishphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals. Nor do we use them in the manufacturing process of our items.

I keep this bin in the back of a hatchback to hold a safety vest, hardhat and some other light items. I purchased it because I like the lid mechanism and the lid staying attached to the bin for getting things in and out. I keep a set of Sterilite plastic drawers on top of it with paperwork and other light items like office supplies, pens, etc with a bungee cord holding the two together so the drawers don't tip over when I am driving. I had the bin less than a year and the lid cracked at where it meets one of the latches. Once it starts to split it extends across the lid. Very disappointed with just light use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It may sound silly, but the best feature for me is that Sterilite appears to have eased up on the adhesive for their labels, and they now peel off cleanly and easily. In olden times, they were using some really aggressive stuff and it was a major job to remove the label (in many pieces) and get it cleaned off. So thank you, Sterilite, for making this easier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like these Hinged Lid boxes! The handles are sturdy, as are the hooks that keep the lid shut. It's also nice that the lid is on a hinge so you don't lose it or get it confused with other bins. The 60 quart size can fit a lot. I was able to store a decent amount of camera equipment and other electronics with room to spare. I also like that the boxes stack with others in the collection. Overall, a great product!
