Sun Bum Kids' Clear Sunscreen Lotion - SPF 50 - 6 fl oz

I thought this would make application on young kids easier and that was NOT the case. The feel of the gel is very sticky, and starts to pill on your skin after a bit of time. And the banana scent is way too strong, my kids hated it!!

I love this clear gel-like sunscreen for my kiddo (and myself). I most enjoy the scent and consistency for easy coverage.

I always bought the baby bum for my daughter which we loved, She is now 2. 5 years old so we decided to try the childrens version since baby bum is hard to find in stores and we dislike it so much. The gel like texture is hard to spread and dries down so fast you need to keep squeezing out more product to finish covering the area. The smell is the worse part. My daughter cried the first time I applied because the smell was to much for her. I decided to try it out and it smells so much like chemicals, like alcohol. After that disappears you’re left with a sweet banana bubblegum scent that even I found overpowering. We’ll stick with baby bum for now but will definitely start looking for something new

Our son reacts to most sunscreens other than a few of the thick, mineral ones. We love this as an alternative to those heavy, white creams. Goes on super easy, protects well at the pool and beach, doesn't cause rash breakout. We refer to it as banana pudding due to the scent and consistency.

Great consistency and I like that it’s gel like— piles and curls up like crazy if you reapply throughout the day.

I bought this because ounces to price wise it seemed like a phenomenal deal! The sunscreen goes on clear which is super cool but as others mentioned it pills really badly and quite easily when you attempt to rub it in. Once the banana smell wears off there is a really overwhelming alcohol smell and the sunscreen itself STINGS. Oh my gosh does it sting, I tried it on myself before I put it on my daughter and I’m so thankful for that because OW!

Beads or clumps up once applied. I do like the clear aspect of the sunscreen

The clear part is nice, but it beads up on your skin when applying.

Application not great. It states that it can be used on wet or dry skin, however, if using on wet, you will quickly find out it just pills up. I don’t feel like the coverage is as good as a regular cream sunscreen.

Interesting reviews. Ours smells like banana, not rubbing alcohol. My son (4) hasn't complained about any burning or shown any sensitivities to it. I HAVE noticed it peeling off. It goes on clear and dries white, so I've seen the flakiness, so we most likely won't be purchasing again.

I cannot use this product for my kids because it doesn't stay on the skin.

Extremely strong alcohol smell/ why is not just like the spf30 for adults? A regular lotion lets you see where it’s applied. This is very drying and difficult to see where it’s been applied so then I used the regular lotion in my daughter after and it caused them to clump together. What a mess. Thankful for your return policy!

Gave both of my kids a rash

My 3 year old said this hurt after the second application so I would definitely not recommend it, especially for kids with sensitive skin.

This was a no for us. It clumps up, has a strong alcohol smell and cannot be applied to wet skin as advertised. Won’t be buying this one again.

Liked that it was clear. However it smelled like pure rubbing alcohol and it made my daughter have watery, bloodshot, puffy eyes, runny nose. Terrible. 0/10.

It rolles up as clumps and falls off. So weird. I cannot use them at all.

This has alcohol in it! And smells like hand sanitizer! Do NOT BUY.

Got this from family and don't use it for the kids as they have sensitive skin and we've only found one type that doesn't break them out in a slight rash so weren't going to change that now, but used it for myself to get rid of it and it seems to work well. It absorbs very quickly so I usually have a bunch ready to go to ensure full coverage. I don't think it smells like alcohol at all like a lot of other reviews say, it smells like bananas... I rather like the smell. But I don't use it on my face. I've only felt a burning sensation once, and that was when using it after having shaved my legs earlier. But I've been out in the sun for a couple hours with it and didn't burn, so I use it before going on runs and have no issues myself. Not sure how it would affect my kids yet though.
