Description
Magnesium is one of the most abundant elements in the universe... and in the human body. It is essential to all the cells in your body and the activity of more than 300 enzymes. For all these essential functions--and specifically for healthy muscles, nerves and bones--try Swanson Albion Chelated Magnesium. Each capsule contains 133 mg of Albion amino acid chelated magnesium. It features magnesium glycinate chelate. For more information on Albion products, see Albion's website . What Makes Chelated Mineral Glycinates So Superior? First we need to understand the chelation process. Chelation is the result of minerals becoming chemically bound to amino acids in a very specific manner. Chelation occurs during the digestive process to facilitate transport of minerals across the intestinal wall so that they may be utilized throughout the body. Amino acids are not the only chelators available, but they are ideal for minerals. The body is very efficient at absorbing individual amino acids, and Albion has identified the amino acid glycine as the preferred molecule for creating organic chelated minerals. Glycine is readily identified and absorbed across the intestinal wall, and Albion's glycinate chelates are actually small enough to transport right into the cells themselves!

A mixture of glycinate and oxide (% proportions?)

I tried it and it's good but I will start using another brand as it is a mixtured with oxide and the label doesnt tell what are the proportions, could be 90% oxide and 10% glycinate or the contrary, but we don't know. If your naturopath prescribed glycinate to you then I dont see how you could use this product unfortunately

Would be a terrific product if the ignoramouses didnt include maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is over twice as high as sugar on the glycemic index. Those on low carb diets or diabetics, will have a problem buying Swanson products now that some numbskull thought that was a good idea to place maltodextrin in a lot of their supplements. I've written them concerning it, but companies these days dont seem to be concerned with quality anymore. I miss the good old days of Swanson. Please have your developers research more and dont include inferior ingredients.

This type of Magnesium is wonderful for a restful sleep. I take this before bedtime. I chew the pills which are hard for me to swallow, or the powder form is very nice.

it says only "magnesium glycerinate" on the label, but then says "magnesium oxide" in the ingredients and doesn't say how much- 90%? rather deceptive.
Changed formula! Read carefully!

I am so upset that they added magnesium oxide. That is really bad for the tummy. This used to be my favorite magnesium, but now I will have to get it from a more expensive company. The name and bottles should not look the same if they have changed the formula. That is upsetting. The main reason people purchase magnesium glycinate is to avoid other types of magnesium.

This product contains magnesium oxide, a trigger for someone with IBS-D like me. I didn't notice it at first and suffered with diarrhea for weeks.
Definitely helped reduce my hot flashes at night.

I started taking a low dose of magnesium 1 hour before bed to help reduce hot flashes and help with sleep. I've only been taking this for three weeks but the number of hot flashes I experience at night has decreased. My sleep quality is a little better in terms of being able to fall asleep faster.
Excellent product.

I'd read that the glycinate form of magnesium causes no digestive problems, and I've found this to be true. And as always, Swanson's version is a superior value.

Started taking this in the hopes it would calm down my insides, but it seemed to do just the opposite for me. I will give it another try in the near future but don't really expect anything different. Wouldn't buy it again.

Must first say I am a Certified Nutritionist. Use Mg Glycinate myself. Glycine can have a minor calming effect, complementary to the Mg. Gentle for most people. Try 133 mg once)day before bed. Go from there.

My doctor said that if I had night time muscle cramps it was most likely from low levels of magnesium. This product fixed the problem.

I love this stuff! It seems to be very easily absorbed and it helps me sleep. I think this is a form of magnesium recommended by Virta Health (Dr. Stephen Phinney's blog).

This looked to be the same as glycinate, hard to find. Seems to do the same job. Wish capsules had higher dosage so could take less of them per day.
