A: Dormant bacteria in a dried state in sealed bottles, such as this product would be, stored under refrigeration are best suited to survive any stressful conditions. Extra colony counts are added to compensate for potential losses in viable bacteria in stressful shipping conditions. Research studies done with exposure to temps of approximately 120 degrees Fahrenheit still demonstrate viability for up to a year after deliberate exposure to stressful conditions. This is the second time I have reported it "missing" to Target. It has been 10 days since I ordered this from Target. It went from Pennsylvania, to North Carolina, to Washington DC to Denver CO. Insane. I still don't have it. Otherwise a good probiotic. Won't order again,though.

Was taking a beautiful, 10-strain probiotic packed within an inulin package capsule for over 10 years. Perfect item, but I had a falling-out with the supplier and moved on to this product. After three weeks daily use, I am in discomfort every day/night, tremendous gas, explosive, near diarrhea type bowel movements several times each day. I thought I might adapt to it eventually, but it doesn't look that likely. I purchased 360 daily doses.

It's not the quality of the product that earned 1 star. It is that today I opened the 2nd bottle and began filling up my 2 week med bac and only had a total of 28 tabs IN A BRAND NEW BOTTLE. So I opened the next BEAND NEW bottle and it had 58. These bottles are listed as 60 COUNT.

I was using a probiotic that was only a few strains. When I switched to Swanson's product I felt a difference within a couple days. Having 16 probiotic strains provides a good range of probiotic types. In addition, you get FOS included in this product which is a bonus.
