I purchased this backpack for my daughter who travels a lot with her work. It has been on 2-3 trips already, and she really likes it. She carries laptop, iPad, and other electrical needs to charge iPhone, etc. I totally recommend this product. Only recommendation she made was it could be larger. However, I may have selected the wrong size…

This is a beautiful bag. Bought it as a gift for my adult son who is a musician. He is always traveling and needed something sturdy with lots of compartments but also nice looking. This really fit the bill. Especially love the insulated drink pouch, the reinforced eyeglasses storage and the charging unit. It really has everything someone could possibly need! (And who wouldn’t love wearing that classic SWISSGEAR button logo on the front?!)

I travel in & out of the city everyday and needed a reliable backpack that will endure the heavy usage, this backpack is the perfect fit. It has all the storage needed with convenient pockets throughout and is very comfortable to wear. I'm so happy I choose the grey heather because the material is of the highest quality and much more durable and cleanable than others material surfaces offered.

I bought this bag less than a year ago and it started falling apart 4 months in. One of the straps with the clips just tore off while I was traveling. One of the shoulder straps is coming apart. I'm very disappointed because I am not carrying a lot and it fell apart with little use. I am very frustrated because I spent a lot of money on this bag expecting it to last me through the next 5 years and it fell apart within the first 6 months. This is not the quality bag I am used to from SWISSGEAR.

There is a lot of room and pockets plus the charger cord in the straps is pretty cool!!! Not loving the "shoe" pocket but I can understand why people might like it...to me it's just more fabric and less room for me

You get what you pay for. I typically would have bought a cheap backpack for my son. He asked for this and I caved. I'm glad I did. The quality is top notch. This one will last a long time.

    Great computer/ travel backpack

    5 out of 5 stars
Great backpack - 1 year ago
    originally posted on swissgear.com
I’ve had this backpack for about 18’months. It goes everywhere with me. I’ve been overseas about six times and back and forth between three houses. It has been on airplanes in the back seat or trunk of cars and taxis countless times, and in work sites. I’ve used it a lot. Positives: - It is perfectly sized for a 15 inch laptop. - The laptop compartment easily holds a laptop, travel monitor, and paper notebook with room fir the USB cable and the battery that connects to the shoulder strap - the main compartment is large enough to hold my wireless headphones extra cables for all my gadgets, a book and whatever you need to carry for immediate access. - The front pocket is perfect for pens, markers, a days worth of my diabetes medications, eyeglass cleaner and a couple of snacks. I love the insulated drink pouch it fits a 20 oz bottle snugly. Works welwnough to keep it cold until lunch time. - The crush proof eyeglass compartment is very nice, but since I have to wear my glasses, I found another use for it. I put my computer mouse and usb drive in it, and have room for a couple of sets of foam ear plug cases. Cons: The shoulder strap pocket for celllphones is too small for today’s phones, unless you carry the smallest size. , so I use this pocket for my phone charging cord. Until today I used it to connect to my spare internal battery. But today the cable got caught on something and broke, one of the hazards of traveling a lot and flight delays. So now the cable that goes through the shoulder strap no longer works. - the liner of the insulated pocket is testing at the edges. A couple more trips and I will likely remove the foil liner, and the pocket will become a regular, non-insulated pocket. - the shoulder straps are very comfortable but I wish they hat a little more padding. The bag can get up to 30 pounds if you carry a lot of electronics. - I’ve never been a fan of the plastic stretchable piece in some shoulder straps. But I didn’t realize this bag has that feature until it arrived. So I overlooked it because there are so many other positives about the bag, and I put it on my carryon most of the time, rather than carry it over my shoulder.

Hasn't been long since the purchase, but so far, so good. Plenty of storage options. Comfortable to wear. Do with the mesh pocket for both the phone and drink were larger... quite a tight fit. Because of that, I have yet to utilize the phone charging option.

Not as much space as I expected

This is my 3rd Swissgear pack over the past 16+ years. I've had the Ibex, the Synergy Pro, and now this. I came back to the same brand b/c the others have held up great. I really like the way this pack looks, which is why I chose it - but I am disappointed in the limited space. I don't understand how the website lists the volume of the Ibex & Synergy as 26 & 27.5, but the volume of this one at 31.4 - is that a typo? That was a factor in my purchase, and there is absolutely no way this bag has more volume than those two. I transferred everything from my Synergy to this one, and the Synergy had so much more space - I feel as though I am using every available spot in this one. The Synergy also had several more zippered pockets than this one. My biggest complaint after 2 weeks of use is that the front compartment zippers both regularly get stuck on the small piece of expansion fabric for the front pocket - It's a bad design. I wish the eyeglass compartment was bigger (I don't use it for glasses) I do like the way this one looks, but giving 3 stars b/c this bag costs more than the others, and I'm not seeing any reason for the higher price so far.

I love almost everything about it, except, it's just too small. I wish they had one just like this that was bigger That had either just enough space or even more than the 1900 scansmart. If this backpack had the extra space to hold a 17 inch laptop and divided with a pocket for the tablet space or for loose papers. It would be perfect!! But yeah, I have to squeeze everything that would have easily fit into my 1900 smartscan before the main zipper broke after many years of use... Perhaps they could make the same model as the 1900 with additional upgrades such as make the side pockets for keeping drinking cold (or at least one of the 2 side pockets), and then add the USB charge port that this backpack has. I'd be completely sold on that. Hope this is something that swissgear or "wenger" could consider!!

    PLEASE UPDATE BAGPACK

I got the bag pack a while back has held up well. however, needs bigger mesh pockets for hydro flask or gatorade bottles. The shoe compartment is useless, since everything will be crushed and also hard to fit in. Also the usb charging port is outdated. The charging port needs to be updated with usb-c. I need it for travel.

I purchased this Backpack because my old one lasted me nearly 15 years. I original purchased it because of the SwissGear Name. This one compared to my old backpack is a little disappointing. 1. The new one appears to be much thinner than the old one. 2. I tried to pack what I had in my old one into this one and I had a lot od stuff left over. That wasn't too bad since I need to so some "spring Ccleaning. 3. The straps on the new one are abour 5 inches shorter and 3 inches closer than the old one, 4. The new one does not have as many pockets as my old one. The biggest problem is with the shorter straps the chest straps come under my chin. Not very useful. I'll still try to use this one but will continue looking for a better replacement. I suppose if I were a bit shorter this may work (I'm 6ft).
