Description
The Tetra® Whisper® 10i Internal Filter for aquariums is the ultimate in quiet, convenient 3-stage filtration. This submersible filter mounts on the inside of the aquarium, rather than hanging from the outside, making it possible to place the tank flush against a wall and easily hide with tank décor. The air pump (included) provides bubbles that move water through the filter, efficiently filtering and oxygenating your aquarium. The water flows through Ultra-Activated® carbon, absorbing odors and discoloration, as well as through the dual-sided mesh of the Bio-Bag® Filter, trapping debris and fish waste. Filters up to 80 GPH while oxygenating water.

I set my tank up 3 days ago and I haven't had any problems. I'm just not sure how often i have to change the cartridges so if someone would let me know that would be great!

Bought this as part of a starter kit. The humming it generates is as loud as a large not quiet filter. Also no flow control.

I bought this about a month ago and just found out there should be a suction cup, but the one I bought didn’t have it and it would be nice to have it so I can put the pump lower in the tank that way it would be in the way of the lid.

I bought the led cube 3 gallon tank with the whisper filter which is meant SPECIFICALLY for bettas. I sat the tank up and within 5 hours the bottom of the filter caught my bettas fins and has SHREDDED my fish’s fins completely. I’m beyond livid and I’m unsure that my fish will recover after the damage this filter has caused. He will no longer eat, swim around, and faces chances of fin rot, body rot, and even death. Thank you Tetra! You all have truly outdone yourselves!

I bought a starter kit that had this filter, two months later it just stopped working. I am def no stranger to fish keeping so took the filter apart, cleaned everything, put back together and still nothing. I am very unhappy and so is my betta. Seems like a company such as Tetra would have better workmanship. I have 4 other larger tanks from another manufacturer that I've been running for over 2 years with no problems. Once again I'm very unhappy. Do not recommend.

As a side note to my previous review which may not be posted along with this one, I once again recommend sponge filtration or any other brand really but Tetra if you're looking for longevity. I've had two top fin filters for 5 years with no problems and they still are filtering great. Not to say I have not had problems with them in the past but as far as goes I've tried every filter on the market and those the ones I've had the longest. And if Tetra is to reply to my previous review, yes I clean my tanks regularly two to three times a month. farewell cycled and I make sure to gently clean every aspect of the filter including the rotor..etc.

I purchased the 3 gallon LED cube tank with the whisper filter included. Not a week after setting the tank up, the filter stops working. It hasn't gotten wet. We followed all the trouble shooting steps provided and it still will not work. Tetra also will not return emails or calls about this issue. Very disappointed.

I bought an aquarium that had this filter in it. It stopped worked five months in. So I purchased another one; same thing. Two weeks after the new one was installed it stopped working.

Received this as gift from friend for my new tank easy to set up on rimless tank.makes nice flow for fish in tank for its size .easy to clean when needed pet stores sell the replacement filters for it so easy to find.This filter saves space on the outside if space saving is requirement for you like in an apartment or small room.That all said it takes up some space in tank and limits how high water can be in tank to function properly I would prefer a filter on the back of the tank .

It is quiet which is a plus. Still waiting to see how it filters my 15 gallon tall tank. The filter included suction cups but can't figure out how to use them with the adjustable hanger strip in place. The instructions are VERY vague on how to put the strip and suction cups on. The hanger alone doesn't secure the filter in place well and looks like it could break at any time. Also, my tank has a plastic strip at the top so I can't put the filter at the back of the tank. Luckily my tank is square so I moved the filter to the side and turned my hood sideways. Not ideal but doable for now. I need to see if it will hang properly if I remove the hanger and just use the suction cups. If not, I'll go back to the Aqeon 30 and use this as an emergency back up.

Betta Fish caught in intake

Purchased for Betta fish tank. My beautiful 1 year old fish got caught in intake. His tail was completely wound up in the impeller. Heart broken! Found there is no guard on the intake to prevent this. Tried to save him after taking the pump apart, but he died in three days. DO NOT Purchase this.
