A: Hi- No, these placemats are not treated with a non-slip material coating. Textilene is not inherently very slippery though and they should not move too easily.-Stacie

A: Thank you for your interest in the Textilene Woven Plaid Placemat. This placemat is not shiny (does not have any metallic in it.) It appears the other comments are for the gray colorway which does have metallic threads in it. I hope this item works out for you! - Brenda

Glad I read the reviews before purchasing… ended up buying another set of placemats with the same order assuming these would come bent from the packaging, lo and behold they did. Likely will be returning even though the placemats themselves check all my boxes, definitely disappointed by Target shipping.

I should have read the reviews, but I didn't think a vinyl placemat would be mesh, with holes in it! How could it protect the table if liquids go right through it?! I don't know if it's worth the hassle of returning it, but it's not going to work as I wanted.

I use them as placemats- and as shelf liners. Very easy to cut and they look great under my bathroom sink, and under my coffee station. Better than contact paper as it doesn’t have to be stuck to the surface permanently and better than the grippy rubbery stuff because things can slide around on top without falling over. And they wipe off easily. A+.

I bought this because it matches my color scheme. But the purpose of a placemat is to catch spills and crumbs, and this does not do that. Whenever I lift it after eating, I see the crumbs and sauces on my white table.
