Description

Learn basic programming skills while having fun with Andy, The Code & Play Robot. Andy is ready to program and play with right out of the box — you just need three AA batteries. You program the robot by pressing big, intuitive buttons on the top of its head — no app or tablet required! You can control Andy’s movements directly by pressing the arrow keys, or press the Go button to enter a sequence of up to 30 movements. Andy lights up and has two movement modes, meaning it can travel different distances depending on which mode it is in. Andy can even play music and dance! Once you understand how Andy moves, you can play a game with the nine included robot cards. Can you guide Andy to find its 27 friends? To find each friend, you will have to program Andy’s path. Once you find a friend, check it off on the back of the manual. In the manual, you can also learn about different types of real-world robots and their functions. Then, access the two bonus games on the Thames & Kosmos website, which you can print at home. In these, Andy can find animal pals or gather food ingredients for a recipe. You can also create an obstacle course in your room, then program Andy to navigate the course. The possibilities are endless!

Great STEM toy for toddlers. My littles love playing with it and making the robot do fun things. They get a lot of enjoyment out of it. They are also able to play with it by themselves without much adult help.

The sounds are just like the movie but it is really loud. It would be great if there was a sound controller and this kid knows which buttons are on and off! PS- don’t forget the batteries. Highly recommend

I like this product and what's it's supposed to do but I don't feel like it's easy to use as directed for the age group it's supposed to be for. My grandson loved playing with it don't get me wrong he enjoyed it, but he could not use the programming function part of it. He was just able to make it randomly move.

Fun little robot to teach the little ones basic coding. It teaches coding on a basic level for preschoolers to understand, back, forward, left, right. But for my 4 year old, he thought it was great! He loved trying to make Andy go in the direction he wanted to see him move, and his absolute favorite function, seeing the robot dance! Andy came with some cars for some kind of game, but my preschooler didn’t seem interested in the cards at all. He just wanted to push the buttons and explore what they did. The buttons at the top of the robot are back, forward, left, right, go, stop, and pause. The thing I liked most about Andy was watching my child figure out what buttons to push to make Andy go the way he wanted him to. I believe it’s a great toy for teaching children the most basic coding skills and having fun!

My 7 year old daughter with minimal help from her older sister had no problem figuring out how to work Andy. They enjoyed programming him and making him dance as well. It’s a great STEM toy and the girls had lots of fun with it.

This little robot was my kids’ introduction to coding and they really have fun with it. It was a little difficult for me to figure out the instructions and do what it was supposed to do (old brain, lol) but my kids picked it right up. It was a little harder for my 5 year old son, but my 7 year old daughter was on top of it and taught her brother what to do. They like playing the game with the included cards and seeing what combination of robot parts they get. They also like how the robot dances. Very cute. Overall, this has been a great educational and fun toy.

This coding robot toy is simply awesome. This has been a huge hit in my home, it's out being played with every day. This product very innovative because it provide many playing options. The instruction manual is clear an provides lots of ideas for challenges. I I Ordered this for my robot obsessed 6yo daughter and she absolutely loves it. It's easy to learn and you don’t need any app to get started. There are so much to have fun- Andi can move in different direction,it can dance ,it can play music and much more.My daughter love using this, she have had so much fun! After several days of playing at home my daughter got the hang of it and loves it! She can use it now and do simple coding but there is so much room to grow with it as she gets more experience with it. the coding is very straightforward and easy for her to understand. Overall I am satisfied with the build quality and way the product presented. would highly recommend this as a fun and educational gift for any kid. This can be a best gift for birthday,Christmas or any other occasion.Definitely recommended!!

My 7 and 4 year olds both enjoy playing with robot Andy. My 4yo mostly uses dance mode, and my 7yo will play the included card game, or program Andy to move about. Kids were both very excited at first, but the robot is limited and eventually kids will get bored with it. I am going to set up an obstacle course next to keep their interest. The robot seems high quality and sturdy, and he's not too loud or obnoxious. Included is a colorful booklet with some info on robots and instructions for the "find Andy's friends" card game. The game is just so-so and I'm not sure what happens if Andy doesn't move to each of the three cards needed to form a picture of a new robot. Sometimes Andy does not turn a full 90 degrees and goes off course and doesn't end up where we intended him to. Seems to not always work on carpet.

My daughters loved Thames & Kosmos Andy: The Code & Play Robot, they spend a lot of time playing and dancing with it. It is very easy to use, the instructions are very easy to understand and explain very well how to use it, you just need to put batteries in and that's it! They love to dance with it, they just press the Go button 3 times and they dance. It is of excellent quality, This is an excellent toy for my daughters to develop their logical and analytical thinking, I really recommend it.

This thing is really tough to keep going straight. It's not 100% accurate in how many squares forward it moves based on number of button presses. I played with it for about 15 minutes before getting incredibly bored and annoyed and my kids played with it for 3 days before they felt the same way and were completely over it. The robot pushes his laid out cards along the path with him no matter what type of flooring we put him on, too. Super annoying and super boring attempt at a toy.

The Thames & Kosmos Andy: The Code & Play Robot has been a hit for my 5 and 8 year old. Once they figured out the programming part they had fun with it. This is meant for 4+ so I wouldn’t get it for the younger kiddos. Makes for a great gift. Great value for the robot too.

My 6-year-old absolutely loved this Thames & Kosmos Andy: The Code & Play Robot! It was so much fun watching him explore what the robot can do. I read the instructions to him, to help him understand just how the robot works. He was able to understand easily and was excited to see the "coding" in action. What a fun idea for kids! Loved the colors, sounds and movements.

Fun toy but my 4 year old and 6 year old don’t love it. I don’t think they understand the ‘coding’ aspect of it so was a a miss in my house. I could see other kids being really into programming there toy to go on missions and I hope that my kids will get there.

Cute and good for kids! More pattern understanding than anything. I like that it uses batteries as we are always running out of usb charge for similar items. Bright and colorful too! Good gift for 4-8 years.

This robot instantly caught the eye of my kids and they wanted to play with it. Then we taught them that it can map a robot and they thought thay was the coolest. It is very easy to use, the buttons respond without delay and it also makes a fun song. They like using this with and without the included coding robots cards. My son carries this around with him and i think itd just the cutest. I would definitley recommend to others looking for a fun and educational beginners coding robot. This is liked by for both my son and daughter.

The Code & Play Robot is a fun toy for preschool- early elementary aged kids. It teaches basic coding and analytical concepts. The robot provides a lot of entertainment for the price. My almost 4 year old especially liked dancing to the music the robot plays.

Excellent coding robot for younger kids

This is an excellent intro to coding robot for young kids and an amazing toy for kids to develop their logical and analytical thinking. Highly recommended! You just have to push buttons in a pattern and hit go and then the wall-e robot starts rolling and moving. It seems to work best on wood flooring or other flat flooring, not as well on the carpet. We have really enjoyed it and it seems to be pretty well made.

This has been a fun toy for my kids that are a variety of ages! Andy the Robot can be programmed to go different directions and he can dance. Keep in mind, his arms and head can not be programmed to move but you can position his arms yourself. Learning how to program him is pretty easy to figure out and the directions provided do a good job explaining. My 5 year old loves makes Andy dance and pushes the buttons to see which way he goes. My 8 and 10 year old have really enjoyed programming Andy to try to move through obstacle courses and using the cards provided to help Andy find his friends. I really like that this toy provides my children to get early practice with coding too.

I thought Andy was cute and my kids liked him. They enjoyed figuring out how to get him to move and dance. It doesn't work on carpet but that's ok. They didn't care too much for the cards, just figured out things on their own. Hopefully they will continue to play with him.
