Gecko Run takes classic marble runs to the next level with new creative challenges and less restrictive building requirements. This innovative marble run uses a specially designed system of flexible tracks that does not require any support structures. Traditional marble runs require lots of pieces to create vertical height, but with Gecko Run, your doors, windows, cupboards, bookcases – virtually any smooth surface – become part of your track, allowing you to build higher with fewer pieces.
Attach the tracks to surfaces with the help of clever nano pads, which work like nanoscopic suction cups, to create a strong, but temporary bond. Q: Can I glue a magnet to the back instead of the adhesives? I want this to be magnetic

A: Hi Laura, thank you for your question! You would likely be able to use magnets instead of the nano-adhesive pads. The magnets would of course limit you to magnetic materials only, while the nano-adhesive pads stick to many different kinds of smooth surfaces. Thank you for considering Thames & Kosmos products!

Q: Can these be used on bath tiles and with water instead of marbles?

A: Thank you for your question! While the nano-adhesive pads will likely stick to smooth tile, water would not work with this kit. The tracks are designed to be flexible, and as such, their design requires gaps/cut out areas. The water would simply fall through these. Thank you for your interest in Thames & Kosmos!

A: Hello and thank you for your question! It is recommended to use the nano-adhesive pads on very smooth, glass-like surfaces. Surfaces like glass doors/windows, smooth metal, smooth ceramic tiles, and smooth glossy surfaces are recommended. They do not stick to rough surfaces like wallpaper, drywall and plaster, brick/concrete and fabric/upholstery.

Idea is great. Execution is a bit tricky. My sons had trouble getting it to stay stuck to our stainless steal fridge. I was nervous about using this on a window with the dense metal marbles. When they did get a setup on the fridge the marbles fell off the track and rolled under the fridge. With the right setup this might be awesome.

Not for young kids. It’s Difficult to put together even for an adult. You have to place the pieces in just the right spot so the marble can make it to the next track, but you can’t reposition it because it’s a sticker and the stickiness wears off quickly. The stickers don’t adhere well so pieces keep falling off and you have to keep buying new stickers. Wish it was suction cups instead. Marbles fall off constantly roll on the floor and get lost. Fun idea, but the reality is not ideal. I’ll stick to regular on the floor marble run.

Product Review: Gecko Run Gecko Run is a great idea and a fun toy—while it lasts. It offers an engaging alternative to marble runs and works wonderfully on glass surfaces. However, there are some significant downsides to consider. Firstly, prepare to spend at least 30 minutes peeling and applying adhesive to the various parts. While the toy performs well on glass, it’s practically useless on furniture. The adhesive peeled off 90% of the parts after minimal use and left a sticky residue behind. Cleaning it up was a nightmare, reminiscent of trying to remove stubborn label stickers. Overall, Gecko Run has potential, but the adhesive quality and clean-up issues severely diminish its appeal. If you’re considering this toy, stick to using it on glass surfaces only.

My kids love this Gecko Run set. It keeps them entertained for hours upon hours. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the ball would jump off the track. Besides that, it was very easy to put together and fun to play with

My 11 year old really enjoys playing with this Gecko run. We used it on the front of our dishwasher. The sticky tabs are movable so he can change up his designs and make the marble run different paths. It was fun to watch him experiment with his ideas! This would make a great gift for a hands on child!

Fun for older kids and great that it doesn’t take drilling! Easily removed and even though that makes it a tiny bit less stable it’s worth it to be able to put it on windows and areas they’ll use it in.

My children enjoys playing with Gecko Run. It was easy for them to set up on the door in the hallway. They have taken it down and rebuilt it several times in different ways. It keeps them from being bored.

Just to see how simple or complicated this item was, I gave it unopened to my nine-year-old and let him have at it. He came upstairs after about an hour, with mixed reviews. He was a little frustrated that it kept falling off of the surfaces that he was trying to stick it to. The painted wall is definitely a no go. The varnished door was so so. Glass works the best. Unfortunately his playroom does not have any glass doors or accessible windows. The only place that we have a sliding glass door is in the main living room going out to the back deck. Unfortunately, he has two sisters that are three and one. Marbles are too dangerous for them so he is only allowed to play with it downstairs. I know this seems like a very specific critique, but he is not able to get too much use out of this Product. Under the right circumstances, it could be a lot of fun.

This marble run is such an amazing idea for kids. It always them to move pieces easily. It has definitely put a smile on my face seeing both my boys work together in figuring out the best spots for each piece. They are having fun. I love that it doesn't leave any marks or residue.

Gecko Run is definitely different than your average toy on the market. This one is marketed towards the older kids, and really gets their creative engineering juices flowing. My 11 year old had a great time constructing a track across the refrigerator! One change we did make: we installed thin sticky magnets (purchased separately) to the back of the adapters instead of the included nano-adhesive pads. This changed things up a bit and made the marble run system magnetic for use in the refrigerator or on a dry erase board. I highly recommend for kids that like to construct, problem solve, and create!

This gecko marble run is the coolest toy of the season! My son is obsessed with changing the variations of this every day. It sticks to any smooth service easily. We put ours on our window. The instructions are super clear and helpful.

Packaging was done very nicely. There are a lot of parts. Appeared to be very confusing at first. Most definitely would need an adult to assemble or a super smart, savvy kiddo. It does require a large space on wall. If it’s not set up correctly and ball falls loose it’s a challenge chasing and or finding.

As a mom, I love when toys are creative and get my kids off screen time. My kids were so excited to test out this marble run! The box says 8+ (my kids are 10 and 11) and they were able to assemble pretty easily. However, several of the tracks would fall down due to the adhesive or the weight of the marble. They persevered and had a fun time. I love that it was trial and arrow and can be put in different surfaces.

Gecko Run is a fun toy that will give you and your child hours of creative play! I was apprehensive at first due to the amount of pieces and because it sticks to the wall however the tracks were easy to put together and the sticky pads came off without damaging the wall at all! There are even extension kits that can be purchased for additional ways to set up the track. Overall it worked really well. After about 5 runs, some of the pads would pop off but they went back on right away for more fun! I highly recommend this toy for a lot of fun, getting the kids away from the screen, and it gives them a chance to use their creative skills!

My daughters open this and immediately put it on our patio door. They spent hours putting it together and playing with it over the first couple days. It’s been a hit so far and I’m sure will be a great toy over the winter.

We’ve had a few different marble run sets, similar to this one. I think what sets this one apart is the “nano-technology” adhesive. This allows use on many different surfaces. We placed our set on the window however, you could place the adhesive pieces on just about any smooth surface, including the wall. I’d advise against placing the adhesive on a dirty wall or one with chipping paint. The adhesive is intended for the “adaptors”, turns, and a few other pieces. Stick them where you want and attach the tracks. The tracks are very flexible and not too stiff or too light. The set comes with several pieces of track, a few turns and bridges, and then some neat components like a bridge and switch. There are multiple metal marbles. There is also an informative booklet on the adhesive and set; this was very helpful. I felt the adhesive worked well, although it did pop off the window a few times. I’m also not pushing too hard on the window. Hopefully it’ll last a long while and we can use this set a long time!
Amazing activity for hours of fun.. kids will enjoy i highly suggest this to anyone who needs to a challenge.. to set up and play !! I highly suggest get this for all !! .............................

This is a great marble run! My two little ones were so excited from the very start of opening this box. My littlest one did all of the setting up. Placing the double sided stickers on everything and her and I mapped out how we would put the pieces on our door. They loved it!

My kids are really enjoying this Gecko Run Marble run. I was a little concerned at first to have the different pieces stuck to the wall for fear that they would be permanently stuck, but the sticky adhesive is easily removed and restuck. So far it has not lost its adhesive properties with multiple uses. My kids love the flexibility of the pieces and the fact that they can be maniupulated in multiple different configurations for hours of fun.

I received this product for free from the Hey, Bullseye sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I had high hopes for this product. I was very excited for my kids to try this out. We used it on our window and it seemed to hold very well. It comes with adhesive stickers to add to each piece. It sometimes was hard to take stickers off the window to adjust it. BUT, it didn’t work for well for us. We adjusted it so many times at so many angles and the marble would always fall off before getting to the bottom. My kids were getting frustrated that as many times as they moved it around it just kept falling off.
