Q: What is the age for this? My 4 year old granddaughter really wants it. I'm worried about her putting marbles in her mouth. Thinking she should be older.

submitted by Linda - 6 months ago
  • A: Hello Linda, The National Geographic Glow-in-the-Dark Marble Run is recommended for children 8 years old and up.

Q: Hi! what is in the marble that causes the glowing? We dont need to use the UV light to play, the marble just wont glow in the dark?

submitted by Marble Question - 10 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question. The interior of the marble is what glows. The UV light is used to help the marble charge faster for glowing purposes. Sunlight will do the same thing, it just takes more time to charge the marble.

Q: does it really glow in the dark like bright lava?

submitted by brooklyn - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi Brooklyn. Unfortunately, the marble run construction pieces do not glow like hot lava, but that would be pretty awesome. The marble run kit includes 6 different colors of glow in the dark glass marbles that shine bright as they zig-zag down the marble run. The kit also Includes a UV light to quickly recharge the marbles.

It is very cheaply made. Does not stay together or stand up without falling over everytime it is touched. Im extreamly disappointed in the quality given it has the National Geographic name.

I was given a return or something. The marble run box was damaged and the parts had scuff marks on them. I still kept them because they werent broken and I ran out of time to get something else. The actual target box was not damaged at all.

The base pieces are poorly designed and the pieces can hardly stay together. The pieces don't really glow in the dark either. Overall I'm pretty unsatisfied with the product as a whole.

This brand is usually pretty good quality for the price, but this one is junk. The pieces don’t have a strong connection and after each run, we end up having to redo the structure. This was at the top of the Christmas list, and I wish I would have gone with another brand.

I order from my local target store at least once a week. Recently my items are all damaged/expired. My food items are crushed or opened. This marble run came opened and the box crushed. This was a gift for my 7 year old son and it isn’t acceptable. I will be returning asap

I dislike that this set is cheaply made, not very sturdy, and the pieces don’t fit into each other as tightly as they should. My 6 year old loves marbles and assembling these toys. The other brand that’s sold here at Target is way better. I will not be purchasing National Geographic brand again.

This item got delayed twice and I still don’t have it. The last update I got was that it will arrive on Saturday. Today is SUNDAY and it’s still not here. I contacted the customer service to ask for a refund but he said it always takes several days more than the arrival date they give you and there is nothing he can do about it.

We bought this for our kid who is obsessed with marble run videos. He was so excited, but the set was a disappointment. It was missing a piece and the picture on the box was extremely misleading. It shows a picture of a child playing with a set that has so many more pieces than the set you are purchasing. We ended up returning and buying a set on Amazon that came with 236 pieces, glow in the dark marbles, and an elevator for only $8 more than this set.

My son (4yrs old) LOVES THIS TOY SET. This set is combination of 2 sets (80 pieces set plus this box) to get this amount of pieces. Plus all more marbles to play with 2 sets of boxes. It is so much fun to watch him play with this and talk to it. Even though the box age is 8+, my son who will then 5 in a few months enjoy this as much as her 8 year old sister. I believe it is safe at age 4.
