The Doux Dear Mama Moisture Milk Leave-In Conditioner - 12 fl oz

The scent is terrible! I can't rate the effectiveness or performance because I need to wash it out. The scent is a sickening, artificial, chemical grape-like scent. The scent overpowers my perfume, and that's another deal breaker. I'm afraid I'll have to return it.

Creamy consistency with slip. Alittle goes a long way and smooths my hair. The scent reminds me of my childhood. Not sure what it is but smells familiar. Like a ol skool grease or something. My hair was soft and defined. Bomb!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon getting the The Doux DEAR MAMA Moisture Milk the first thing I noticed was it’s generous size; a whopping 12oz - which isn’t traditionally the sizing you find for leave in conditioner hair products, and a large lotion pump for its product delivery system. I’ve used the Doux in the past, the original mousse and was super unimpressed, I got a lot of flakes. But this moisture milk, which is my favorite product name type for leave in’s; as they tend to boast a focus on moisture and protection of the hair shaft through environmental and internal manipulations, is a standout. The scent is mango-fruity-papaya blend and if you’re the fragrance inclined you’ll love it. I personally don’t like fragrances in my leave on hair products, due to having a more reactive or somewhat sensitive scalp as I age. It get heady in my opinion. The feel of the moisture milk is lotion creamy so not too heavy like one may think but right in the middle. I have multiple textures of coily and kinky type 3 & 4 hair so while my hair isn’t weighed down easily I am prone to buildup. The Moisture Milk provided a easy addition to my LCO styling process and didn’t leave a film on my hair, I go hard either detangling prior to my wash day so I only lightly detangling when on LCO. I will say while did get moisture down my hair shaft and not just coated hair it is not a detangler to me. Like at all. Like mentioned I have multiple hair types & textures and high density hair. So when I used this to lightly detangle I was getting no give. I had to use a comb more than I’d like in the LCO process and just put aside detangling. The moisture balance longevity of this product was awesome, my braidout looked juicy though frizzy (I’m prone to frizz it is what it is) at day 5-6.5. I got that moisture but this is product where I definitely had to go light on the rest of my LCO step. I used pumpkin oil and a mist cream for the rest of my style process and didn’t face scalp issues yet. But if your like me in any way I would definitely not go heavy handed in applying because when I did I got the hairline flakes I hate.

Lives up to its name very moisturizing.

If you are sensitive to smells do not get this. It has this very fake cherry smell that made me sick all day. I had to immediately wash my hair and the hat I was wearing. This was an automatic return.

This is my least favorite product from The Doux. It doesn’t keep my hair moisturized like the rest of their products do. I have to use a copious amount just to feel like my hair isn’t dry. I also notice that the product clumps together. Issa no for me :-(

Unfortunately caused flaking with the Big Poppa Gel

This has become my go to conditioner. Not too heavy for my hair but it keeps it moisturized.

After a couple months of use, I like the moisture this provides. The scent is OK, but the reason this is 3 stars for me and not 4 is because it didn’t pair well with my preferred secondary styler. Little clumps start to form if I applied the bee girl custard over top. I use this now to moisturize in between wash days, or for when I’m going a few day without styler to give my hair a rest.

When I tell you “Dear Mama” is The Truth… This is the first time I’ve used this product. I’m just came out of braids not knowing what condition my hair was going to be in. “Dear Mama Moisture Milk” got me together. My hair is So Soft and smells so good. I got this in a bundle. Im definitely buying more bottles! Love the way my hair feels.

Instantly provided moisture and softened 4C twists. However, I’m deducting 2 stars because of the overpowering scent. I wish it were a more neutral scent - it smells like grape baby Tylenol x 10 and doesn’t dissipate once it dries down so it lingers all day. I’m returning it because the medicinal smell is just too much!!

I really wanted to like this product because I’ve had great results with the Doux products and liked the ingredients, but I just couldn’t get past the smell. There’s a very strong artificial grape scent that’s just too overpowering.

This is best for in my opinion wet hair, but on dry hair, doesn’t give me the look I’m looking for for me Wet hair all the way that is the only way I can use this. If not, it doesn’t work. It doesn’t give me the look I’m looking for.

It’s very hydrating and I use it when i do my braid downs to lock in moisture. I’ve noticed less shedding when i take my braids down. Definitely a product I will keep in my routine ✨

This is my first time using this product line and I can say, I am thoroughly im pressed. I did not have to use a separate styler, only the milk and my hair looks amazing! I'm not a fan of heavy products on my hair, so this was nice and light, not stiff.

OMG…..game changer! Dear Mama changed my whole hair life! It detangled and softened my hair. And it smells so good. Most definitely worth every penny. Get it, you won’t regret it.
