Q: How does this formulation differ from the previous version (the collab with Manes by Mell)? I loved the hold and definition but it made my hair so very dry I had to stop using it.

I used to like this for product, it dispensed like a moose, and was easy to apply. In this new packaging, it now comes out the consistency of snot and dribbles down the side of the bottle. It requires a lot of care to get it to distribute evenly

This stuff doesn't seem to do it for my hair. It also causes my hair to be a little brittle after application. Smells nice, though.

I like this new formula but loved the previous one too. It now has what I would describe as a soft orange blossom scent. Worked perfectly brushed styled with a leave-in + glazing/scrunching this in before diffusing. The hold is on the softer side.

I never write reviews. I used the original product for over a year and loved it. Then the new bottle came out and I purchased. I noticed that my hair was frizzy, flat and had no hold but thought maybe it was me, so i kept using it for a while. Nothing changed, my hair continued to be flat and frizzy. It occured to me that maybe it wasnt me, but the product. Well i ran to the ulta app to check recent reveiws and sure enough, others are saying the same 😩 Im so sad cause i genuinely loved this product, it was a one and done styler for me. But now i cant use it at all. Please bring back the old formula! 😭

A true mix of foam and gel which gives the product a creamy texture. Feels moisturizing and lightweight. This has replaced my previous everyday ISO Tamer foam after is was discontinued. Took a few fails but found my new favorite everyday curl product.

It was fine at first but it just became crunchy on my very curly hair. I'm not sure what happened but, don't recommend buying. Plus it was made in Israel apparently so. No.

the original product was perfect. it was lightweight and gave me just enough hold for bouncy curls without frizz. they changed the formulation with absolutely no warning: it's not even the same thing anymore, the original was much more mousse-like. i decided to give it a chance and the first thing i noticed was an AWFUL smell. it smells like cooking grease that someone tried to clean/cover up with lemon pine-sol. the product itself is now a watery, slimy gel that made my hair super frizzy in parts and super sticky in others! curlsmith's volume mousse is infinitely better, and not your mother's mousse is also great for anyone on a budget.

The curl foaming gel does a great job of defining my curls without weighing them down. After I scrunch out the crunch my hair feels super soft. I also get nice volume after diffusing, which is great since I have low-density hair.
