I absolutely love this player! I wanted a Tonie but was disappointed that you have to buy an individual character for a small amount of content. Also, I knew my kids would want to listen to a specific sound on repeat, and there is no way to see what you are picking. With the Yoto, they have complete control. Also, with the make your own cards, you can put on WHATEVER content you want (in MP3 format). Yes, you need WiFi to set it up, but once it's downloaded, you can take it anywhere WiFi free. You can swap content anytime on the Make your Own cards. It's like an MP3 player but with kid control and screen free. Also, there are small pictures that you can customize so they can see what story they are picking. It's awesome. If you need help, go to the Facebook groups and jump in!

Great entertainment that we used for a flight. You’ll have to be very mindful about making it ready for no WiFi connection. Because of children’s ever changing preferences, the “Make Your Own” cards were far more worth it to us. Maybe down the line we’ll get story cards, but our little one likes to have physical books. The controls aren’t as intuitive as you’d like so practicing using it with your child will take some time. Don’t expect them to get into independent use with it right off the bat.

I got this for my music and story loving 7 year old. It has been amazing! She plays with it all the time and it has significantly decreased the amount of times I have to say no to screens each day. I love there is a ton of great kid safe music options and I can set volume controls for the device and headphones. The mini is perfect too because she can take it everywhere!

App required. This is frustrating to me because no where in any description did it say an app was required. I suspected it might be for the make your own card, but I bought three cards that had audio books on them and the way they are marketed, it makes it sound like it’s just a smaller cd and cd player. It’s not. Very disappointing. I’m tired of all things claiming to be “computer free fun” for your kid but I still need a computer to set it up.

Perhaps I should have read the information better but I am so incredibly disappointed in this product. I bought the mini player and multiple sets of cards thinking we could just play the cards and hear a story. I didn't realize that this has to be connected to WiFi to work. As someone who's sole purpose this was for travel, it's highly disappointing that you can't just listen to the cards like you would a CD. Very inconvenient to have to hook up to the internet and download everything. Definitely wishing I would have gone with Tonies instead.

We love the Yoto Mini! It plays a wide variety of audio books, music and radio, as well as podcasts...all kid appropriate content. We've had the mini for only a short time, but it's already been so useful in helping my almost 9 yr old spend less time on screens and makes bedtime much easier for her. I love the portability for when we go on trips too! It's been well worth every penny.

We have five Yotos, including this newest Mini. Love, love, love them. Great company, excellent customer service. We've been using ours for three years with no complaints. Very user-friendly and intuitive. Customize functions through the app. Cards are an investment, but great for kids. We also use Make Your Own cards a lot.

While my kids enjoy their product, they completely lack customer service. One of ours had an issue and had to jump through many hoops to get a replacement and then they never shipped the replacement after I mailed in the broken one.

Yoto is by far the best present I got my kids. We have 3 and so many cards. My kids, learn, dance and get entertained in long car rides and trips. Unlike Tonies , Yoto uses cards, which is way more practical than little figurines. You can even make your own card . It’s perfect .

Get one! We bought our oldest one when she was 2. She didn't really get into much at first but now that she's 4 she uses it constantly for story time, jokes, Yoto daily is amazing! We love Jake! She also loves some of the meditation cards. Now her 2yo brother LOVES it. He mostly just uses the radio feature but he tries to work the cards as well. We've bought a Yoto original and a mini now so they stop fighting over it. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for less screen time. There's so many options with the make your own cards it's amazing.

I was torn (like most) between the Yoto mini and the Tonie. Originally went with the tonie and I wanted to love it so bad and wanted my kids (3&7) to love it as well but just couldn’t get there…so fast forward through the return of the tonie we jumped right in and purchase the Yoto and I can’t say anything bad about it! We LOVE it! It is so much more travel friendly than the tonie and more affordable in my opinion. The cards are only $9.99 compared to the $20-$25 of a tonie and if you download the Yoto app it opens a whole new world of FREE stories and songs which change monthly (you don’t get a whole lot of free these days) they offer monthly or yearly subscriptions to help save even more money. I have no regrets. I love it as a screen free option!

Our Yoto mini died after 9 months and would not turn on. Contacted customer service whoch was no help. I wouldn't purchase this product again nor recommend to friends. Also disliked the yoto radio channel....no way to remove.

Terrible customer service.

Love the concept but Yoto has recently changed their membership and has let potential customers and current customers in limbo for almost two months. Is absolutely ridiculous. If you bought your Yoto during this time, you basically just get to wait. You get zero benefits for buying cards or credits. Can’t sign up for a membership. Just wait and their customer service is absolute garbage - I was sent a link to share my feedback on their forum. See you later Toto. I will wait for another company to come up with a similar concept or go with tonies.

Fantastic for kids screen free music and audio

This is easy to use (both for my kids and for me on the backend), great sound quality, compact, and works just as expected. I love that I can record my own audio and also use songs I already own with the “make your own” cards. We also use the timers and the free kids radio station a lot. I HIGHLY recommend. I would suggest also purchasing the silicone adventure jacket accessory since this is likely to get dropped. The yoto mini is expensive, but we feel like it has been worth it for us.
