Q: I always end up having a burnt rice and the rice gets bad right away. Does this rice cooker burnt rice and how long does the freshness last?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The NS-RPC18 is able to keep rice fresh for 8 hours. Please rinse the rice well before cooking to remove the excess starch. I have a 5 cup, same brand rice cooker at home and it works perfectly so I thought I would buy this 10 cup rice cooker and it would work the same. Unfortunately, the rice cooker does not cook rice thoroughly and the top and middle of the pot is still half cooked or uncooked rice grains. I wonder if through the shipping and delivery process that it was damaged by being thrown and tossed carelessly causing it to not warm and cook rice evenly although there was no physical damage to the product that we could see.

I love it! It’s the second one I have purchased. The first was much larger this one is a tiny version of my other one which lasted for over a decade. I hope this one does as well. Only wish they still made the huge one.

Non stick is easy to clean. Cooks rice evenly. Superior quality. My old rice maker is a different brand and had no parts available. My new Zojirushi has parts available so I bought it. So far it has made excellent rice and I am glad I found this brand. I have know purchased the 2 lb loaf bread maker and look forward to making bread.

My friend gave me this rice cooker in the early 2000s! I use it constantly and it works great! Over the years it has gotten a couple of digs when I moved, but this is a high quality piece. I love it!
