Mented Cosmetics After asking themselves why it was so hard to find the perfect nude lipstick, KJ Miller & Amanda E. Johnson were inspired to create Mented Cosmetics. The Harvard Business School grads believe that every woman should be able to find herself in the beauty aisle, no matter her skin tone. The vegan, cruelty-free makeup brand creates products that are perfectly pigmented to match any complexion in a broad range of shades. Because when it comes to beauty, Mented believes no one deserves to be an afterthought.

TGIN Chris-Tia Donaldson first became interested in natural hair care in 2002 when there were very few products on the market designed for kinky, curly and wavy textures. After struggling to find affordable natural hair care, she created TGIN (Thank God It’s Natural), a hair and skin care company with high-quality products that delivered without breaking the bank, leaving the wearer with softer, moisturized and more manageable curls, kinks and waves.

Kinky-Curly After visiting her homeland of St. Vincent and the Grenadines one summer, Shelley Davis learned the value of herbs and plant-based ingredients for hair. Fueled by a passion for healthy hair, the natural hair care pioneer was inspired in 2003 to found Kinky-Curly, a hair care line made with natural, organic ingredients for thicker, stronger, longer hair.

Camille Rose Janell Stephens first became interested in skin care after developing natural solutions for her children’s chronic eczema.
