The size and scale of this lamp is impressive and just what I was looking for, however the hardware that connects the stem to the base is lacking. The threaded nipple it comes with was too short to secure a strong fitting to the base. It pryed itself off. A trip to the hardware store to get one longer (3.5") plus an extra jam nut (thinner nut for above the base) helped secure the cantilever weight. This was very frustrating and added loads of time to assembly. The black shade is nice, but the white interior creates reflective light. We used it to light a dining table but used a spot bulb to avoid uplighting.
