Q: Can you recommend a brand of 13 gallon bags that works with this? the ones I have don't go wide enough to open across the top.

A: stretching it is not the problem as it fits around the perimeter, it's just not talk enough. so yes, the standard 13 gallon bags do fall inside of it. you will need xtra large bags.
submitted bycarrie - 2 years agoA: So I used Glad ForceFlex Bags for the stretch. Take any remaining looseness, gather and tuck inside the back hole on can liner. Use your other bags for Goodwill Donations.

A: We recommend that the can is placed 2" away from the wall to ensure proper operation of the lid.

A: There is a hole in the back of the inner bucket that secures the bag in the can.

When you are placing your bag inside of the can you can lift this container and surround it with your garbage bag. This gives it a sleek appearance without seeing the bag. Have a great day. - Tiara

Q: Will the lid stay open on its own?

A: Yes, if you depress the pedal as usual, you can manually tip the lid back 95 degrees and it remains open. If you simply depress the bottom pedal, it will auto close on its own.

Q: Is there a way to open lid slowly so it does not sound like a gong as it hits wall every time? Even the slightest pressure with for pedal seems to make lid fly up.

Didn’t know I could be so excited about a new trash can (I guess this is adulting?) but I think this trash can works great! Love the soft close lid, love that I can set it to stay open when needed, and love the fingerprint-resistant feature. Highly recommend!

This is 11.8 Gallon (45 Liter) trash can. I thought it was a 13.2 Gallon trash can which is pretty standard. I don’t know why Target sells such an awkward size. I recommend others to specifically look for 13.2 Gallon (50 Liter) trash cans. The giveaway should have been that the description says it fits most 13 gallons bags.

I ordered the gold, it is not as deep of a gold color as pictured…more of a silver with a matte light gold highlight. Mine arrived in a few days with no dents or scratches. I guess I got lucky there. I am very happy with it. It is taller and narrower than the one I had, I like that it fits better in my space. I use the tall target brand bags and they fit well. It holds the bag in place better than my old one. The lid works nicely with a slow close and you can manually open the lid to have it stay fully open on its own. Also, the foot pedal is flat, as to not catch food and debris in it.

The trash can is pretty but because it came in damage, I can't. More than half the items I order online and receive are broken or damaged. Target really needs to wrap and secure the items in the box. I have called them on several occassions to let them know. I am frustrated that I have to take time out of my day to return.

The trash can came with dents and scratches on it target also overcharged me $15.94 I did not know that was going to happen there was no transparency i expected back or I will have my credit card company issue a dispute about damaged property and overcharging with Target

I needed to update my old, gross looking trash can, but noticed that trash cans come with a very high price tag! I was happy to find this more affordable option and decided to give it a try. I really like this one. It looks nice and sleek with the shiny silver and the thin, rectangular shape. It is easy to set up against a cabinet to keep it mostly out of the way. The lid opens easily with the push of the pedal and has a quiet, slow close once the pedal is released. If you need the lid to stay open, you simply open it by hand instead of using the pedal and it will automatically lock open. The liner inside the trash can is easy to pull out. I like to do this when removing and replacing the bags, because it keeps the lid mess free. Also, this allows the bag to be held in place better. Once you wrap the bag around the liner and put it back in the trash can it will secure the edge of the bag so it doesn't fall out of place. The back of the trash can has a handle that you can grab to easily move it to a new location if needed. Yes, the material of the trash can will probably be easy to scratch and dent, but so far mine looks great after almost a month of use. The silver color will easily show dirt and messes as well, but that is to be expected of most trash cans, so I can't fault it for that. Overall, I am very happy with this trash can and am glad I was able to save some money in my upgrade.

Regular bags do not fit. You have to buy bigger ones. Regardless of the type of bag used, it’s unnecessarily difficult to take the bag out because there is a bulge at the top that keeps the bag from being pulled out. You have to push the trash away from it to get it out. It’s pretty, but that was a stupid design, and I’m taking it back.

Bought when I moved in September to my new apartment and it’s the perfect size and color just looks simple and nice. I will say don’t get any scratches on it but I guess that will happen especially on white and something you use everyday. Love it it other then that

Other reviews verify this problem. The cans are not boxed and "stainless" is cheap, thin metal. I rejected it.

This was the only trashcan I found after looking all over the web that wasn't a total eyesore for my kitchen. It serves it's purpose and blends into the decor well. We got the trashcan in white. The inside part is easy to remove and clean in case there are lingering odor whenever changing the trash bag.

I got this to replace a much smaller round one (also from target, years ago). The rectangular shape make this one much more useful and it fits better at the end of the counter. The top is east to raise with the foot pedal and has a soft lowering function so it doesn't slam. The 13 gallon bags I already had fit it perfectly

Sleek modern design that’s super quiet. No smacking sound when opening or closing it. The bucket used to hold the garbage bag makes it very easy to be user friendly and not flimsy/cheap. It’s a flat white color that is easy to wipe clean which is great when you have two toddlers like I do.
