A: You have to lift the lid or press on the step. Unfortunately, it is not a touch top.

I was looking for a trash can to holdan 8 gal. bag but didn't want to pay a fortune for it. This one works great and didn't cost a lot. it's also not black or white which I didn't want. Hopefully the mechanism that operates the lid is sturdy enough to last a long time.

We use this locking lid trash can in the bathroom where the litter box is located. My daughter cleans the litter box daily and then places it in this locking lid trash can. Then she empties the trash can weekly. It seems to lock on the odor. The trash can is made well and sturdy. It’s easy to open, close, and lock.

This is a nice little locking wastebasket that is great if you have little kids. I purchased it to use for our recycling. The color is more of a "greige," I would say more taupe than gray, but I think you could use it with either tone. It holds quite a bit, and I use the clear 8-gallon liners to keep it clean. Has a pedal and is hands-free unless you use the lock. Pleasantly surprised by this product.

The color is definitely more beige than gray - more like a “greige” color. It is actually exactly the color I wanted but I wanted to let others know. Picture is pretty true to the real color. My picture here is next to the beige tile in my bathroom.

Nice color, but is a very light plastic trash can. Using the step option makes the lid fling back. We end up just opening the lid slightly with our hand and tossing in the trash. Recommend maying a little more and getting a metal (or heavier) trash bin. Still serves its purpose.

Purchased this trash can to keep outside for dog waste (note: it’s not listed as an outdoor trash can). I wanted something plastic so it wouldn’t rust and that would withstand the elements and so far it’s been perfect. This is kept underneath a second floor deck so it’s somewhat protected from the sun and rain. Put a brick in the bottom to keep it from blowing over in the wind.
