The best feature is the six-month Amazon Kids subscription, which provides free access to download books and audiobooks. It includes parental controls, and the books my child receives are based on his age. There are no ads, games, or videos. The battery life is excellent—one single charge can last for weeks. It also comes with a two-year warranty, and I have the ability to monitor my son’s reading progress. Additionally, under settings, I can access my library and have the chance to read as well.

I love that you can look up words just by holding down your finger on a word. As my daughter gets older and starts reading on her own, I’ll be able to monitor her reading progress.

It fits perfectly in their little hands, making it easy for them to read picture books and listen to audiobooks. I also appreciate the adjustable screen brightness, which helps make bedtime reading more comfortable. Just like a regular Kindle, the battery life is so great and lasts DAYS! Another great feature is that I can download my own books onto it, so I can use it too! Plus, the cover is super cute, which is a nice bonus. It’s a fantastic device that’s both kid-friendly and versatile for parents. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The setup was so easy. It has a really good battery life, lasting for weeks with a partial recharge for us. We’ve found the screen bright enough and readability on the screen is excellent. The cover is cute, fits securely to the screen, and has been protecting the screen well. The kindle may be a little heavy for younger children but the actual size is pretty perfect to carry around. The kindle holds up to being dropped—we’ve tested that a few times, so I believe the durability claims! There is an awesome selection of books and they seem to download fairly quickly (I’m sure that is dependent on internet speeds to a degree). But not all of the books are well-formatted for kindle—in books with pictures, the pictures are on separate pages from the words, even though there is space below the picture for words, like in the physical book. I also wish there was an option to change the screen to color for certain books. I’ve found navigating between the screens to download , view library, and read to be a little confusing, and my daughter certainly cannot do it on her own yet, but we are working on it—like anything else! Having said that, the ability to travel around with so many books in such compact way is awesome

Even though it gave the product specs when ordering, the kindle is significantly smaller than I expected! It is also a bit slow and lags. I made sure I have the most updated software but it still is a bit delayed. The case is super cute and perfect for protection. The parental controls are very easy and finding the book you want is effortless. You can even download adult books on your profile to keep them separate from the kids. If you’re looking for a quaint item to keep in the car for the kids, this would be great!

I gave it to my little sister, and right off the bat, she LOVED the beautiful design on the cover/case. The artwork is so fun and beautiful, and it's great to grab the attention of kids to get them more interested in reading. The case seems like it will also be great for protecting the Kindle from damages or being dropped/scratched. The setup was very simple and easy, and hooks right up to the wifi. It also comes with the charger, too! Battery life is great, as it charges fast and lasts forever! I love that the Kindle lights up to make it easy to see, but out doesn't hurt your eyes, and it's not as bright as a phone. The screen is also clear, and images are sharp. Perfect for reading! The refresh rate or time it takes to load and scroll through pages is super fast. I also love that you can set up parental controls for younger children. It even came with a free subscription, which is great! My sister loves that she can also hook up her earbuds through the Bluetooth for audio! This is the perfect size, not too big or too small... and fits perfectly in a small bag purse or bookbag. This has renewed my sister's interest in reading and had me wanting to get one for myself. I particularly want one of these kids' kindles over the regular one... and I'm an adult! Lol

I always struggle to have my son out down the tablet to read a book, so this is tricking him since it's a screen. I did habe trouble setting it up as it wouldn't connect to my account. But once I got it all was good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For privacy reasons I will not be including pictures of the kids with the Kindle. We have been using it regularly since delivery. The kids are really getting the hang of it and enjoyed doing their nightly reading. Set up was really easy, as was adjusting parental controls. We have some very advanced readers and we set up a much broader library for them than what is in the pre-set age range. Battery life is excellent, which means I don’t have to worry about interrupting their reading times for charging. They are able to read the words well day or night and adjusting screen brightness is easy. We will be getting a lot of use out of the life of this kindle!

If possible, I would like it to be able to play sound directly on the machine without connecting to any audio device. But overall, I find this a useful product for children who love reading.

The quality and durability is amazing, because we all know that we need those things for children. So far it’s been a whole week and we haven’t needed to charge it. It’s pretty fast as far as downloading the books. It’s small in size but the words are easy to see on the inside. It has a decent battery life as well. I would like for it to be more appeasing maybe a read aloud option and some color.

I love that it has a clear, free display and back lighting. He shares a room with his brother and now will not need to use a reading light. 16 gigs of memory is a ton so I feel like we will really be able to store a lot, and his child profile quickly paired with the Kindle, so all of my parental controls work on it.
