Q: I'm looking for a tea kettle that doesn't have black plastic that comes in contact with the hot water. It looks like this has black plastic in the lid, is that the case?

A: Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, the underside of the lid does have plastic, however the water does not come in contact with it. As well, the plastic is made of polypropylene which is a BPA free material. Should you like a unit without any plastic we do have other model you can view on our direct website. Q: Does it automatically shut off when it reaches boiling?

A: Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes once the water gets to a boiling point the unit will they shut off. There is no keep warm feature on the model, should you cool down you would need to turn it back on to reheat. What I got was the version with a digital button and temp selection. Some people might like that but I just feel like the digital display will break before the rest does and it won't be usable. Also the entire interior of the top is all plastic. Plastic breaks down when exposed to heat and there are plenty of studies of the chemicals released by plastic when it breaks down. I should have returned it before I used it.
You can feel the silicone glue inside the pot

Despite only having plastic on the lid, not needing a plastic filter.... There is silicone sealant exposed to the water where the metal ring on top meets the glass. It smelled like glue upon purchase which made me investigate. Did not seem safer than the much cheaper chefman which I also returned. Very frustrating finding a kettle that is plastic free and won't rust.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I love how beautiful this glass kettle looks in my kitchen with the stainless steel matching my other appliances. I can use this early in the morning or late at night because the kettle lights up while heating and heats very quickly. This is perfect for use for tea, hot chocolate, and dry soups, either for one or multiple properties, and if it cools down, the switch can be flipped easily to turn on again.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. This review is for Aroma Electric Glass Kettle, I think it's really nice looking. It is clear glass trimmed in silver, it has a very clean look sitting on the counter. The power cord is short so safe for the little kids. It's so easy to use, just fill with water and sit it on the power base and push the button. The water heats very quickly. I love this pretty little kettle.
