Q: How can the reviews be so good when all my plants are doing poorly in this soil? I grow flowers and veggies every year with great success but not with this soil a complete failure.
A: Hi Elisa! We are sorry to hear your plants are not thriving, but we are here to help. Please email us photos of your plants to contact@backtotheroots.com, we are here to help you grow. Have you given your plants any fertilizer?
submitted byBack to the Roots, Inc. - 2 years agoBrand expertA: Soil needs to be replenished often with fertilizers in order to sustain a healthy crop of veggies/plants/etc. In addition to adding a balanced all purpose fertilizer, I’d recommend adding blood meal, bone meal, kelp amendments, any type of fish poop amendments, along with langbeinite and mycorrhizae fungi for optimal root health. Happy Gardening!

Q: Is this soil supposed to produce actual mushrooms? I potted this indoors and their are mushroom popping up everywhere.
A: Hi Kay! Please send a photo of your soil and the mushrooms to contact@backtotheroots.com. We'd love to take a look to better assist you. While the presence of the mushrooms themselves isn't a bad thing, they can be a signal that something else is not quiet right. As mushrooms thrive in moist, humid environments, their appearance could suggest that the potting media is too moist and the plant is potentially being overwatered. Check the potting media and adjust your watering if necessary. If you're sure the levels are ok, then the mushrooms are a bonus - they can improve the quality of the potting mix and help with the plant's nutrient intake.

Q: Is this soil appropriate for container growing magnolia tree, olive tree and fiddle leaf fig?
A: Hi there! Our potting mix should be good to use for olive trees and fiddle leaf fig trees, but you'll likely want a more acidic, loamy mix for a magnolia tree. Feel free to reach out to contact@backtotheroots.com with questions!

Q: Is this soil vegan? No animal products? Thanks.
A: Hi Mellow! Our soils are not vegan, we use poultry litter, crab meal, and feather meal in our soils. Our plant foods are vegan, though, from our all-purpose, our edibles, and our indoor plant food for houseplants.
