    Purchased this product in November. It stopped working completely by the following March. Called the number on the " instruction leaflet" (which I still had) and they first advised me to take it back to Target which I did but this was out of Target's 90 day return policy. I called back and they told me to call another number. That person informed me that I would have to ship the product to them (my expense) to have them fix it or send a refurbished one. This product is junk. Don't waste your money!

    It soaks the area around it. Great for plants that need humidity but not good for wood floors or furniture. Either runs out of water in 2 hours or runs for 30 hours, but just does so randomly. Not based on how you program it. The WORST part is that you cannot take it apart to clean the inside of the tank. I noticed mold growing at the top of the tank and there is not way for me to clean it.

    I got this humidifier about a year ago to fight off the dry winter air in my dorm room. It worked fine, with nightly refills and regular cleaning to clear away any buildup. Then yesterday for no discernible reason, halfway through its water supply for the night, it stopped working. I can’t seem to find any problem to fix, since it isn’t the outlet it was plugged into, the cord is intact, it wasn’t bumped in the night at all and it had been running for at least a few hours before turning itself off. Now when I hit the power button it doesn’t even turn red indicating that there’s an issue of not receiving the water properly, it’s like the base of it just stopped working all on its own. It’s a bummer because I don’t want to have to buy a new one so soon, but I can’t seem to find anything to repair on it.

    Purchased this because I had dry skin/nose. Only made the issue worse. The first night I used it I woke up with a sore throat and stuffed nose. Will be returning. Also it is not silent and makes wining noise.

    I really disliked how I was unable to clean the inside of the machine. I tried opening it and felt unsafe using it over and over when I couldn’t clean the inside of it. It also leaked which was a downfall and onto my hardwood floors no less. I am very unhappy and ended up buying the Vicks brand and love that one!

The cleaning instructions of this unit are indicated in the manual, but we are not recommending cleaning inside of the machine. Here are the possible reasons why the humidifier is leaking: Unit tilted or not leveled, cap not tight enough, and the tank water is Hot. Here are the possible solutions to this issue: Remove tank cap and replace or reposition gasket, place unit on a flat or leveled surface, tighten the cap, and also make sure to fill with cool water only. If the issue persists, you can file a warranty. Thank you

    OVERALL GOOD HUMIDIFIER BUT HARD TO CLEAN

    I’ve had this humidifier for a few months now and I think it works well in my little bedroom. However I have noticed that little orange mold is showing up in areas that are very hard to clean because I can’t reach them like inside the spout and tube. Is there a solution to this? It seems unlikely because it doesn’t come apart. What should I do?

    Hi there, Ang96! Thank you for choosing Holmes®️. We hope you are doing well and safe. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience upon using our humidifier. We are sorry to learn that you are having a hard time cleaning the unit. We advise to use distilled water to lessen the mold and scale buildup. Clean the base and tube by partially filling the base with one 8-oz cups of undiluted white vinegar. Leave this solution in the tank for 20 minutes, while cleaning all interior surfaces with a soft brush. Gently scrub the area around the transducer with a soft brush. Remove the scale by wiping the entire base with a cloth dampened with undiluted white vinegar. Rinse clean with warm water to remove the cleaning solution before disinfecting the tank.
