A: No it has a removable filter basket. If you would like to use a filter, it's a stand filter but it's not needed.

After unpacking, I noticed the packing slip had a small sticker saying the product may cause cancer or birth defects! Obviously I packed it back up for return and find out that the $9 extended warranty I also purchased is not refundable! It would be perfect otherwise, but because of this, I can't give it a positive rating on any feature.
