Bought the toaster two years ago. It was nice while it lasted, though it takes a long time to brown toast. Unfortunately, the electronics failed and had to discard. Overall a piece of junk. Have had much cheaper toasters that have lasted forever.

We were using this toaster once or twice a week. At first, we loved it so much, we decided to also purchase a Compact Smart Oven. A couple months ago, the middle elements stopped working so we get beautiful toasting on one side and nothing on the other. The toaster didn't make it 2 years with light use. Other toasters we've had lasted years. I'm very disappointed. After calculating out the cost of the toaster vs. how many times it has been used it, we have eaten some very expensive toast! :(

I absolutely loved this toaster when I bought it 6 weeks ago- love the features and my kids think the lift and look is so cool. Unfortunately it started turning on automatically when plugged in and this morning I noticed the plastic is all melted. Have to unplug it now every time I’m done using it so my house doesn’t burn down. I have sent an email to Breville, hopefully they will make it right. I’ve probably only used it 10 times.

We have been happy with this toaster but after some months one of the bread slots has ceased to work. As having a double toaster was the reason for purchasing this is a real let down.

I was trying to find a toaster that would meet my needs and not break prematurely and be another disposable piece of junk. I thought I'd found that with this model, and for the 14 months that it was working it was great. It's beyond the manuf 1 year warranty, but I had bought the extended warranty which I'm pursuing now. Hopefully that will be resolved quickly.

I wish that I'd paid closer attention to these reviews before buying this toaster, as they're all correct. We were replacing an old, cheap toaster and this one looked great. When we got it, we were so happy with it - it toasted evenly and reliably, the "lift and look" and "a little bit more" features are so handy, and it fits all shape and size of bread items. Unfortunately within a year the interior heating elements have stopped completely on one side and are only working at about 30% on the other side, so now it only toasts with the outer heating elements. This isn't a cheap toaster and it's really disappointing to see such a basic issue after a very short time. I trusted Breville as a much more reliable brand than this, and I'm sad to find out that their quality isn't what I thought.

This is my 2nd Lift and Look toaster. We were so spoiled with the first one, we didn't even want to look at any other toasters. We wanted the exact same one that we had. We eat a lot of bagels and they come out perfect every time. Hot dog buns toasted are the best and we use the bagel setting for them as well. The "Little Bit More" setting is such a smart idea. Works great

This toaster has some great features. I love the cool touch sides that don't melt the plastic bag the bread comes in and ruin the finish. The wide and extra-long slots are nice to have when toasting Italian round or take and bake bread. The only thing that I would fix on it is the labels below the buttons. I used a mild soap to wipe it down and the labels came right off within the first month of ownership, Now I have to guess which button does what. I considered putting some tape labels on, but they looked tackey.

Worked great for a few years and I love the lift and look feature - game changer. However, today (like many other reviewers) I saw the toaster spark and then an element flash bright white. Now the middle section does not toast :( very sad and unfortunately, it seems like this is a manufacturing problem as so many other folks have had the same problem.

This toaster is defective. It burns anything you put in it on one side. The middle is hotter than the ends. We purchased one toaster and then exchanged it with Breville due to this problem. Unfortunately, the second toaster did exactly the same thing - burnt toast on one end. Want a bagel cooked evenly? Need to flip it around. Want toast cooked evenly - better due it on a pretty low setting or you will have charcoal on one end of it. Frankly, this as laughably poor for a toaster at this price. You could get more consistent toast spending $15.

My kitchen is practically a Breville showroom. I have found the brand to by synonymous with quality and have had great experiences with their products. Unfortunately, that has not been the reality with this item. This toaster is pretty and when it works, it’s fabulous- toasts really nicely and evenly. However the elements on one side do not work at all anymore, and no toaster, especially such a pricey one, should only work 3-5 years. All of the labels for the features rubbed off very quickly too so I have no idea what is what. It is very cheaply made, highly disappointing for a Breville product. Will not be repurchasing.

The toaster will only toast the outside of the bread. No, the bagel setting is not on. The long slice never toasted in the middle. I think it’s designed for 4 slices even though it shows the long slice. I was so excited that my sourdough bread would be fully toasted only to be discussed. Not what I thought of Breville for quality.

Toaster works well, but after 18months the labels for the buttons have fully worn off - I only clean the toaster with a dry paper towel irregularly :( Still works, but hard to remember what a few buttons now do!

This is our second Beeville toaster, same model. Thought the first one was a lemon so took a chance on a second one. Poor choice. Heating element stops working after awhile. Toast on outside only. I love the look, size and options but not the quality or price. I expected this toaster to last several years. I would not reccomend it.
