Description
The iconic Capresso H2O Glass water kettle is constructed of German-made Schott – DURAN® heat resistant glass. This glass kettle features ounce and cup markings for easy filling. A patented stainless steel dome covers the highly efficient concealed heating element. The H2O Glass boils water fast, quietly and safely then shuts off automatically. In addition to boiling water for tea, the H2O Glass is handy for heating water for French press or pour-over coffee. This beautiful kettle can be removed from the base and brought to the table for serving. A thermal cut-off and dry boil protection add safety to this model. Purchased a Capresso about 5 years ago and it started falling apart within a year. Bought a Farberware (which was less than half the price of the Capresso). Farberware has lasted through 4+ years of daily, sometimes 2-3 times per day. Still going strong. As with all electric kettles if you have hard water, you need to regularly (at least once a month) clean it with vinegar solution to dissolve hard water deposits.

We used this kettle daily, but for the price, I expected it to last longer than 18 months. We maintained it, keeping the heating element free of water deposits and calcium buildup with either vinegar or a very diluted de-scaling agent. It was an overall disappointment, as I am now shopping for a new kettle.

I’ve had this kettle for over 8 years. It gets daily use, and is often used several times a day (I’m a tea snob). As another reviewer suggested, a monthly cleaning with white vinegar and water is great for keeping the heating element clean. The switch seems to be going, so it may be time for a new kettle. Nice to know this one is still available (it does look beautiful on the kitchen counter).

I’ve had this kettle 5+ years. If you have hard water, you do need to scrub monthly with vinegar to remove calcium build up and allow the water to fully boil. As long as you take care of it, it’s perfect! I will say, I just broke the lid and have to replace it but after 5-6 years, that’s ok with me.

This is the prettiest Electric Kettle you are going to find however it did not last. Two months after I began using this the nob on the top of the lid broke off. Then after a year of daily use it stopped working all together. For the price of this kettle I personally cannot recommend. It gets an A+ for looking pretty on your counter but a D- for the rest. To be fair if you are looking for an electric kettle to sit on your bar or counter for occasional use this might work well but it you are going to use it daily as I do look elsewhere. Hope this helps!

This kettle heats water very quickly, is easy to use and looks great. I had mine for a few years before it died on me. The first time I thought it died, it must have just been dirty because a quick wipe down of the kettle's bottom and heating unit's top had it working again. The decorative 'silver' colored top piece came off and got lost a few months back. All in all I'd recommend.

Highly disappointed in this product. I've owned this Capresso kettle for two months. It doesn't not work anymore. The light turns on but nothing happens. I've tried it in several outlets in my house so I know the problem is the kettle not the outlets.

This is my first time using an electric kettle, rather than heating on the gas burner. I like seeing the water at a rolling boil through the glass. The rocker switch is good, and the design overall is good, shutting off the heat shortly after reaching the rolling boil, no chance of boiling the water away. It has worked twice for me, and I hope it lasts a while.

Capresso H20 is an improved version of the old model which we have had at least 5, problems usually with the switch. This new model looks like it will last much longer with the improved switch.. Couldn't be happier with it.
