Screw to the battery compartment was stripped, so we couldn’t use the light. Had already opened the product and done the crystal growing part, so I couldn’t return it. My 4 year old still thought it was a fun craft, but it didn’t feel worth $20.

The screw to the battery compartment will not come off. it is a simple flashlight and I have considered just breaking it and replacing it with something that will work. EXCEPT the crystals grow on the glass, not on the stones provided, and getting them out is very very difficult. Unfortunately my grand daughter is supper excited by this so I will continue to try to find fixes. I cannot recomend this product at all.

I was super excited to do this with my 2 1/2 yr old- we just didn't do the crystal growing activity. The stickers were fun, and she was able to help with almost everything. She got sidetracked easily but that's a toddler! The only down side is that the light fell off. Which was surprising because the only thing done to it was my husband put batteries in. We are currently trying to glue it back on with some loctite super glue. Overall would definitely recommend because it is super cute!!

It's a good size for her night table and it also lights up so she uses it sometimes as a night light. The instructions was easy to follow she did not need much help putting it all together.

The little ones wanted to make it into a little goldfish tank or a betta tank with a live fish in it and we had to put another light source on the lid and it is great!!

The product is not designed for this purpose. We do not recommend using this craft kit as a tank for live fish.

The stick on bubbles have a horrible chemical smell and the sticky part of them doesn't even stick to the bubbles. Making the crystals is not hard but requires pretty hot water, so a lot of kids aren't even able to do it. The best part was decorating the aquarium, and even that didn't last long. If you have a really crafty kid, they may enjoy this more.

Such cute details, this little mermaid, stickers and crystals. The crystals have grown beautifully. I liked the idea that the terrarium can be used as a night light, now it decorates the children's room. It is always interesting to make something with your own hands, I think it is a wonderful and interesting gift that both girls and boys will like.

Everything came nicely packaged and it comes with everything you need to make it (terrarium with lid, sand, shell, starfish, treasure, growing crystals, glow in the dark stickers, mermaid and light). I love how my daughter was able to use her own creativity to make it her own. As a mom, I love that it's an educational activity that combines science and art. We loved checking on the crystals throughout the day and seeing them grow. Once my daughter completed the terrarium, she put it in her bedroom and has been using it as a nightlight. The colors are beautiful. Be prepared as it needs 2 AAA batteries that are not included. Overall, we are very pleased with this product and would highly recommend! It would also make a great gift for any mermaid/and or science lover!

i bought it for my grand daughters 6th birthday because she loves science. she put the three crystals in water but not one of them grew to the size they where suppose to. they actually didn't grow at all. what do you do in this instance.

If after 24 hours the crystals have not grown, remove the rocks and carefully reheat the solution following the steps in the instructions. We have tried a lot of these types of products and this was by far the CUTEST one. It was super easy and fun to put together and I love that it has a cute blue light. What I didn’t like - the stickers smelled AWFUL when first taken out of the package. They had a weird STRONG vinyl/plastic/idk what smell and it was strong enough that it made all of us dizzy. Huge thumbs down for that part

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loved setting up her terrarium with all the pebbles and stickers and we had a lot of fun watching as our crystals magically grew. I was able to teach her the science behind that process and she really enjoyed learning in a fun hands on way. The only downside I'd say is that once the terrarium was all set up, there was really nothing else we could do with it. So it just sits on our counter and we admire it but my daughter was hoping there would be more interaction. If you're looking for a teachable craft, this is a great option but as a toy, it hasn't proved to be too entertaining for my little one.
