Q: With the thermal carafe full, what is the weight? I’m thinking of buying for 81 yo who is frail. The same model with glass is getting too heavy for her. Thanks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace our old Cuisinart, similar model. I really like the thermal carafe. We are always breaking glass ones, so we looked specifically for the thermal one. And the coffee stays warm for a long time. I just wish the mouth of the carafe was a bit straighter, so the coffee doesn't get stuck around the lip when pouring the last drop.

The Cuisinart coffee maker carafe that I purchased in 2013 began shedding its coating, so I decided to replace the whole thing. I was extremely disappointed that black was the only color offered. The coffee maker seems to operate as intended, but it does not keep one cup hot "for hours," as promised, but this may have something to do with the volume of water. Since I've read that some of these units stop working prematurely, I'm keeping my original white unit on hand. And, finally, why is 10-cup the default size?

I bought the 10 cup Thermal Classic Coffee Maker recently and it is the second one I’ve bought! I loved the first one and I love the second one! My first one was still working but I just wanted a new one! I gave my old one to a lady that lives in my building! She loves it too! I wouldn’t own any other brand!

Overall we like this coffee maker. The only downsides is we wish the coffee would come out a bit hotter. It's easy to cool down coffee that's too hot but tougher to make it hotter. Also, the shape of the pot makes getting that last few ounces out tough because you really have to turn it almost upside down. Other than these two minor issues we really like it.

This coffeemaker looks and works great. It uses a cone filter which I think works better than the circular filters. The clock gives off a nice and bright blue light. It has a timed feature that allows you to set it up at night and have fresh coffee in the morning at the time of your choosing. Highly recommend.

It was my favorite coffee pot for 7 months till all heck broke loose. The thing is possessed or something. The Power/program button blinks on/off.9 times out of 10 when you turn it on it shuts right back off When it does work it brews 2 cups of coffee then stops, sometimes it starts again. When you try it manually if you are lucky and it brews, it just keeps restarting and the beeping is maddening. I swear the thing is possessed!

I like everything about this coffee maker, except I wish it had a"strong" setting, which several recent coffee makers have. I particularly like the power backup that saves clock and timer settings for up to one minute when power is interrupted (our hole house generator takes over about 10 seconds with power interruption).

Love the coffeemaker, so much better value and quality than the OXO coffeemaker that I had. Couple of things could be better but not a deal breaker at all: you must be careful pouring in the water, the space to pour is tight and in an awkward position. If you mis- pour, it will go in the grounds basket or spill outside the unit. The other issue, but again I can live with it, the selection knob seems flimsy and doesn’t line up with the different choices to set the brew. Finally at the end of the brew, it’s louder than my last one. With all that said, It makes great coffee and I would recommend.

The controls are only what is needed, and are intuitive, simple to use. A full pot of coffee will stay the correct temperature until it's empty, even with the burner off. The machine appears to be very well made.

I purchased the 10-cup thermal coffeemaker and had to return as it was impossible to set the time; i.e., unable to program. The screen just flickered at 12:00. The switch didn't even 'click' in the proper setting. I requested a replacement and discovered the same problem and had to return the second one for a refund. Looks like the Boeing lack of inspections is catching on. What a shame for a formally reliable Cuisinart name.

This is a great coffeemaker, easy to use and maintain with a convenient water gauge on the side and a thermal carafe that keeps coffee warm all morning. 10 cups is the perfect size machine for us and it was worth searching for this model to replace the well-used, worn-out Cuisinart model we had. I anticipate similar great service from this one.
