The coffee maker will not do anything but flash the word clean on the screen. Will not brew and will not run the cleaning cycle. There is nothing in the instructions that tell how to reset it. I do not recommend this to others.

I chose the product and it was given to me for Christmas. It has been an excellent product and I am pleased with the choice. It does a great job of making a full carafe of coffee with no filter run over. That is the problem I have been experiencing with my old machine.

Beautiful looking; pot is somewhat heavy to lift & pot when full; Biggest concern is that it is lacking a warmer! My bad for overlooking this feature…but have bought many coffeemakers over 50 years and all had warming feature. Even with putting hot water in pot before brewing does not get coffee warm enough. Not happy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We chose this coffee maker over the similar Cuisinart thermal coffee maker. We actually purchased the Cuisinart to replace a discontinued Cuisinart model (very sad to see it no longer available). The Cuisinart makes very good coffee, but the ergonomics of the new design are disappointing. The Cuisinart basket is located in the middle of the water reservoir. This makes it very difficult to fill the water reservoir from the thermal carafe. Every time I would spill water into the grounds basket. The carafe on our old model was taller and more slender than the updated model. The new model is shorter and wider at the top. This design makes it difficult to pour our the water and it results in a good amount of coffee left in the carafe when you believe it is empty. We chose the Black & Decker model because the water reservoir is located to the side of the grounds basket. Very easy to fill the reservoir from the carafe and I don't spill water. The B&D carafe is tall and slender at the top. I have no problem pouring the coffee and pouring out the entire pot. Nothing is left inside. Negative: VERY slow brewing. The regular mode takes 16 minutes and the strong mode takes 25 minutes. The Cuisinart took only 12 minutes in the regular mode. (I did not test the strong mode.) Both units heated the water to 180 degrees. After two hours the Black & Decker is still 160 degrees. The Cuisinart was hotter after two hours - 171 degrees. But we often have the pot empty within two hours so that's not a problem for us.

This B&D thermal carafe coffee maker is the best one I have ever owned. I’ve had a couple of Cuisinart thermal carafe coffee makers previously and they always rusted heavily on the bottom from water dripping down the side from the steam condensing on the lid creating a rusty mess on the counter. It was also extremely difficult to read the water fill line on the side of Cuisinart machines. The B&D machine has none of these issues due to the wonderful engineering. It is very easy to see the water reservoir level when filling as it is visible from the front of the machine. The stainless carafe is also easier to clean due to the wide opening. Additionally, a lip around the top edge of the reservoir lid keeps water from dripping and leaking down the side of the machine when the steam condenses on it during brewing. If the bottom of the machine does get wet it will not rust since it is made of plastic. I’ve been using it daily for over a year now and it still works and looks brand new, I couldn’t be more pleased! Not to mention the fact that the B&D machine is MUCH less expensive than its inferior competition. Thank you B&D for doing the work to design a great machine at a great price!

I keep breaking glass coffee pots so I purchased this one. I am vey happy with how convenient the purchase was (on Amazon). Purchased at 5pm and order was delivered before I woke up the next morning. I just cleaned it and brewed my first pot of coffee and it's delicious! My only complaint is that there is no beep/sound to let me know when it is finished brewing.

This is a replacement for our old Black/Decker Coffee Pot. The old lasted for over 15 years with no problems. So far it does a good job but I don't see any value in the 120 minute timer as the old one did not have it. Also the clock is not backlit like the old one. I like the It is very easy to use and I really like the 12 cup stainless steel thermal carafe. I hope it will be a very good coffee pot like our old one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just bought it. We have always had the simplest and least expensive drip coffee makers out there. This one much better. It saves energy as it does not have a hot plate but a thermos style carafe. It holds the heat hot enough for coffee drinkers for about 1.5 hours. We like it since it seems to be a cut above the basic models. Hopefully it lasts!

Just used for the 1st time. Seems very good. Setting delayed brewing was easy, straight forward. Manual will written. Complaint: putting the very small print model number on the bottom is a awkward but the worst part is the number is black plastic, part of the bottom and it's incredibly difficult to discern the model number! Had to take pics and enlarge. Also, putting the date code on a prong of the plug? Hmmm. Seems strange. Had to unplug, lost settings. Luckily easy to reprogram.
